WHAT HAPPENED?
Per The Telegraph, the Reds will go after Kerkez in the summer, for whom Bournemouth are expected to demand a fee in the region of £40 million ($50m). The Merseyside club have identified the young full-back as a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson. Robertson, who has been key figure in the Reds' defence since 2017, will see his existing contract expire in the summer of 2026.

The then-Bournemouth sporting director Robert Hughes played an important role in bringing Kerkez to Vitality Stadium from AZ in 2023. Hughes is in a similar role at Anfield and has been working closely with manager Arne Slot on transfer activities since last summer.
