Bid prepared: Liverpool line up £50m transfer swoop for Palace star after superb FA Cup performance
{by} Caughtoffside.com

Liverpool reportedly look set to try their luck with a £50million transfer move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer.

The talented 21-year-old has been a revelation for Palace since joining from Blackburn Rovers just over a year ago, and it makes sense that a big club like Liverpool are keen on him.

Wharton was superb again yesterday for Palace as they beat Aston Villa 3-0 to make it to the FA Cup final.

It seems clear that Wharton is ready to go to the very top, and he’d surely be tempted by Liverpool if they came in with an offer.

According to the Sun, it looks like the Reds are planning to do what they can to lure the England international to Anfield this summer.

Adam Wharton transfer: Liverpool surely won’t be alone in targeting Palace star

Wharton will likely have plenty of suitors if he does become available this summer, with £50m likely to look like a bargain for the youngster in the long run.

A recent report from TEAMtalk also linked Wharton with Manchester United, while CaughtOffside have previously been informed about interest from Arsenal.

Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand recently sung Wharton’s praises, urging his old club to get him in as he reminds him of Michael Carrick.

“Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton – I’d go and get him,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“The reason why I’d take him is he’s one that can take the ball and transfer it through the middle of the pitch.

“He’s got a great range of passing. I think he’d be a great addition to the squad, a young English talent as well.

“He’s like Carrick sometimes, the way he slaps the ball about.”

Liverpool already have a lot of depth in midfield, but Wharton could make sense as an upgrade on the likes of Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones in that area of the pitch.

United arguably need him more given the dire state of their squad, but that would also likely make LFC the more tempting option for him.
