El seleccionador
de fútbol de Bélgica, el español Roberto Martínez, seguirá en ese puesto
dos años más, hasta después del Mundial de atar que se disputará a finales de
2022, informaron este sábado varios medios belgas.
De acuerdo con
diarios como 'Le Soir' y 'Het Laatste Nieuws', Martínez y la federación de
Bélgica han alcanzado un acuerdo para prolongar al técnico dos años, si bien
los abogados de ambas partes están puliendo los detalles jurídicos del
contrato, cuya firma dependerá de la evolución de la situación sanitaria
generada por el coronavirus.
La agencia de
noticias Belga indicó que la federación de Bélgica descartó comentar la noticia
y precisó que informará cuando el contrato del español se haya firmado, lo que
todavía no ha sucedido.
De todas formas,
una fuente próxima a las negociaciones aseguró al diario "Het Laatste
Nieuws" que "sin una catástrofe administrativa", Martínez
seguirá como seleccionador belga hasta que concluya el Mundial de Catar en
2022.
En febrero, el
entrenador ya había afirmado que prolongaría al frente de los "Diablos
rojos" cuando este año termine su contrato. Martínez llevó a Bélgica a una
histórica tercera plaza en el Mundial de Rusia de 2018.
