El presidente de
Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro sorprendió al manifestarse a favor del regreso del
fútbol, aunque sin público, con una controvertida teoría sobre los futbolistas,
que según él "tienen una posibilidad infinitamente pequeña" de morir
por coronavirus. Así se expresó en una radio de Porto Alegre: "Por el
momento hay muchas personas, que están en el fútbol, que son favorables al
regreso porque el desempleo también está tocando las puertas de los clubes. A
esta temprana edad, el jugador, apenas, si se ve afectado por el virus, la
posibilidad de que haya letalidad es infinitamente pequeña. Incluso por el
estado físico, por la salud que tiene este atleta, tiene que sobrevivir".
El mandatario
argumentó: "A menudo pensamos que todos los jugadores ganan fortunas. No,
la mayoría no gana bien y necesita al fútbol para mantener a su familia. Ellos
están en la necesidad. No soy yo quien permitirá el regreso del fútbol o no,
pero ya he hablado con el ministro de Salud (Nelson Teich) y le doy una opinión
al respecto para que regrese sin aficionados. Por nuestra parte esto debe
hacerse, según lo acordado con Teich y parece que Anvisa (Agencia Nacional de
Vigilancia Sanitaria) también tendrá una opinión en este sentido".
Brasil superó
este jueves el récord de infectados en un día, con más de 7.000 solamente en
las últimas 24 horas. Se trata a día de hoy del país más golpeado de Suramérica
por la pandemia del coronavirus, con 85.380 casos confirmados y 5.901 muertos,
según los partes oficiales. Los números no han dejado de empeorar en los
últimos tiempos a pesar de la política de confinamiento, aunque éste es más
relajado que en muchos países de Europa.
