La Premier quiere volver el 12-J, sin público y en campos neutrales

Los clubes acordaron retomar la competición a mediados de junio, con un margen de tres semanas previas para entrenarse. Debe aprobarlo el Gobierno.

 

Los clubes de la Premier League se reunieron este viernes durante cuatro horas para decidir un plan de reinicio de la competición. El acuerdo al que llegaron es la vuelta de la competición el 12 de junio, con un margen de tres semanas previas para que los futbolistas se entrenen (en torno al 18 de mayo). Otras de las decisiones adoptadas son que los encuentros se disputarán sin público y en estadios neutrales de diferentes puntos del país. Ahora, las medidas estudiadas por la Premier deben ser aprobadas por el Gobierno, que ha de analizar si la seguridad y la salud serán las adecuadas para el reinicio de la competición.

 

La posibilidad de utilizar sedes neutrales para completar los 92 partidos que quedan en la Premier League era muy palpable desde antes de la reunión. El Gobierno ha sugerido que una de las soluciones será mantener en secreto el estadio de los partidos, tanto como sea posible, para prevenir la presencia de aficionados. Esto se debe al temor que hay, por ejemplo, ante la posibilidad de que el Liverpool se proclame campeón de la competición y pueda haber aglomeraciones por el título. Aunque ya se habla de los estadios del Arsenal, Manchester City y West Ham, como posibles sedes, por ser recintos que no están rodeados de casas.

 

 

Otra de las cuestiones clave será el número de cambios que se pueden realizar durante un partido. Sobre la mesa está la opción de hacer cinco sustituciones, ya que el calendario será más exigente para los futbolistas.

 

Por otra parte, la Premier League ha acordado finalizar el calendario de las categorías inferiores en todas las competiciones Sub-18 y Sub-23 con efecto inmediato. La decisión sobre los resultados finales se decidirá en una fecha posterior.

 

Gary Neville pide llevar la Premier a un país seguro para terminarla

 

El exjugador del Manchester United Gary Neville ha pedido que se lleve la Premier League a un país seguro para terminar las ocho jornadas que restan de campeonato.

 

Neville, en declaraciones para la cadena británica Sky Sports, explicó que las condiciones actuales en el Reino Unido no son las adecuadas para retomar la competición y que si la Premier quiere volver de todos modos debería plantearse hacerlo fuera de las islas.

 

"Podrían sacar del país a los jugadores, las televisiones y la prensa, estar una semana o dos de cuarentena y jugar la competición en un sitio en el que esté probado que se puede controlar el virus. Hay un par de sitios en Europa sin coronavirus que pueden ayudar a la Premier a terminar", dijo Neville.

 

Los clubes de la Premier League se reúnen este viernes con la intención de discutir el proyecto de reinicio de la liga que incluiría la vuelta a los entrenamientos en grupo a mediados de mayo y el retorno a la competición a principios de junio.
