Luego de más de
un mes de paralización total en prácticamente la totalidad del planeta, el
fútbol comienza a abrirse camino en medio de la pandemia de coronavirus.
Mientras Polonia ya puso fecha de regreso para su liga local y la Bundesliga
está cerca de confirmar la reanudación, en Italia los clubes ya obtuvieron el
visto bueno del gobierno para regresar a las prácticas a partir del lunes de la
próxima semana y comenzó a aumentar la discusión acerca de la manera más justa
para definir la temporada de la Serie A.
Si bien los
planteles comenzarán a entrenarse nuevamente desde el 4 de mayo bajo estrictas
medidas sanitarias, el ministro de Deportes Vincenzo Spadafora ya avisó que el
pedido de la Federación para retomar el campeonato el lunes 18 fue rechazado: "El
protocolo presentado fue considerado insuficiente por el comité
técnico-científico. Es necesario profundizar en algunas cuestiones, que serán
revisadas en los próximos días y dejarán una conclusión. Sólo entonces podremos
decir si se reanuda la actividad o no".
Ante este
panorama, los directivos continúan en su disputa pública sobre cómo debería
terminarse el campeonato si el calendario no permite disputar las 12 fechas que
restan. Mientras algunos presionan para que se anule la temporada, otros son
partidarios de que el torneo tenga sí o sí una definición: el dueño y
presidente de Lazio, Claudio Lotito, reconoció que preferiría jugar un mano a
mano por el título contra Juventus antes que jugar todos los partidos que están
pendientes.
"Aceptaría
jugar una final para definir el Scudetto, pero no es algo que vaya a plantear.
Reanudar el campeonato nos castigaría. Nosotros hicimos una elección: sabíamos
que no podíamos competir en tres frentes y sacrificamos la Europa League, que
era la competición más incómoda, para jugar una vez por semana mientras el
resto tenía que hacerlo dos veces. Si vuelve a comenzar el torneo perderíamos
esa ventaja", aseguró el hombre fuerte del conjunto romano, que al momento
de la suspensión de la liga marchaba segundo, a un punto de la Vecchia Signora.
Pero Lotito no
sólo quiere anular las fechas restantes, sino que en diálogo con La Reppublica
admitió que también busca eliminar de la carrera por el título al resto de los
equipos de la parte alta de la tabla: "Nosotros estamos un punto detrás de
Juventus, le ganamos 3-1 en el primer partido de la Serie A y en la Supercopa y
todavía tenemos que disputar el partido de la segunda vuelta. ¿Por qué sería
justo que estuvieran involucrados en la definición un equipo como Inter, que
está ocho puntos detrás, o Atalanta, que está a 14 unidades de
distancia?".
