
La RFEF se
aferra a la clasificación, en el caso de que no acabe LaLiga, y otros países,
al ránking. La preocupación es el tránsito de equipos por los 16 países aún en
liza.
A expensas de los
caprichos de la pandemia, la UEFA ha recomendado a sus 55 federaciones
asociadas terminar las ligas el 31 de julio. La primera intención de la
organización paneuropea es disputar al compás de los campeonatos nacionales lo
que queda de las competiciones continentales, reservando la final de la
Champions para el 1 de agosto, pero si no fuera posible por la expansión del
coronavirus, aún alberga la esperanza de poder cerrar la Champions y la Europa
League en el mes de agosto, del que se aprovecharían sus cinco sábados,
reservando el último, el día 29, para la final de Estambul.
El otro asunto
estrella en el Comité telemático que se celebrará hoy serán los criterios de
clasificación para las competiciones europeas de la próxima temporada en el
caso de que no puedan concluir las ligas antes del 31 de julio.
La UEFA prefiere
que cada país fije los criterios, pero de no haber acuerdo aplicará su ránking.
La RFEF ya ha anunciado que si llega la fecha límite marcada por la UEFA sin
que haya acabado el campeonato, respetará la clasificación provisional de ese
momento. Con su criterio, si no se volviese a jugar, Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla
y Real Sociedad serían los equipos de Champions. Si se aplicara el ránking
UEFA, la Real quedaría fuera y entraría el Atlético.
Pero ahora, la
UEFA ya admite que puede que haya ligas que no acaben y no descarta respetar
como definitiva, a efectos de sus torneos, la clasificación en el momento de la
suspensión. Eso sí, lo que no parece dispuesta a admitir la UEFA es que los
finalistas de Copa jueguen la Europa League, como pretende Rubiales, si la
final del torneo del país no llega a celebrarse. La UEFA pretende primar al
mejor clasificado en la liga (en España, ahora mismo, el Valencia, que dejaría
fuera al Athletic). Pero, por otra parte, en la RFEF entienden que la UEFA dará
libertad a cada federación para elegir los criterios y que, sólo en caso de
rechazar la propuesta, se aplicará el criterio general de la organización, el
coeficiente europeo calculado según los resultados de las últimas cinco
temporadas.
Otra de las
grandes preocupaciones de la UEFA es resolver el problema de los tránsitos en
las competiciones europeas. El avance de la pandemia es irregular y hay 16
países en juego en el fútbol de Europa. Otro obstáculo.
