Unas
federaciones, como la Española, apuestan por dar su lista de equipos europeos y
otras le pasan la responsabilidad a UEFA, que optaría por su ránking. El jueves
se decide. Atlético y Real Sociedad, en vilo.
La UEFA ha
consultado hoy con sus 55 federaciones asociadas el formato para concluir las
competiciones europeas y también el criterio de clasificación para la edición
de la próxima temporada. No se ha llegado a ninguna conclusión en firme, puesto
que la organización quiere consultar antes, en lo referente al calendario, con
las ligas, la ECA y FIFPro. Sobre los criterios de clasificación, será uno de
los puntos de discusión en el Comité Ejecutivo previsto para este jueves. Pero
estos criterios serían aplicables sólo en "casos excepcionales" en
los que no pudieran concluir las competiciones nacionales, algo que la UEFA no
contempla por ahora más allá de "situaciones especiales".
Con respecto a
los criterios de clasificación, la UEFA ha reclamado a sus federaciones que le
ofrezcan una lista con los equipos que deben jugar el año próximo en Europa
para el caso de que no se puedan concluir los campeonato nacionales. Algunos
países prefieren evitar ese compromiso, y proponen que la lista se haga con el
coeficiente UEFA. En el caso de España, si se toma el criterio de la RFEF, y
siempre que no pudiera concluir, o reiniciarse, el Campeonato, iría la Real
Sociedad, cuarto clasificado, pero si se optara por acudir al ránking, el
clasificado sería el Atlético. La organización publicó un comunicado en el que
revela que "se recomendó encarecidamente que se terminaran las
competiciones nacionales de liga y copa, aunque se entiende que pueda haber
algunos casos especiales. Teniendo esto en cuenta, UEFA está elaborando
actualmente algunas directrices relativas a la participación en sus
competiciones de clubes, con el objetivo de ayudar a sus federaciones miembro
en caso de que se cancele una liga o copa". Es decir, que si las
competiciones nacionales quedan inconclusas, la UEFA podría avalar un criterio
común.
En cuanto al
calendario, en las conversaciones de este martes también se ha hablado de la
posibilidad de retomar la Champions al compás de los campeonatos nacionales
pero con una fórmula 'final four' o, en su defecto, concentrar la competición
en agosto. También son dos posibilidades que serán discutidas el jueves.
