La
Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol reunida en forma virtual ratificó el
inicio de las Clasificatorias para la primera semana de setiembre.
Se reunió la cúpula
de la dirigencia del fútbol sudamericano y adoptó decisiones. Que se puedan
cumplir lo de la Conmebol, es otra historia. Ratificó el inicio de las
Clasificatorias Sudamericanas para el Mundial de Qatar 2022 para el mes de
setiembre, y en el formato preestablecido de “ todos contra todos” . Esto es,
18 fechas en total.
Así planteadas
las cosas, el comienzo sería en los primeros diez del mes nueve del año. Como
ejemplo, decir que el Uruguay de Luis Suárez estaría debutando ante el Chile de
Arturo Vidal en el Centenario de Montevideo. El segundo partido sería en Quito,
ante Ecuador dirigido por Jordi Cruyff.
Se anunció
también, que “La prioridad continúa siendo preservar la salud de la gran
familia del fútbol sudamericano, y por lo tanto debido a las actuales
recomendaciones de las autoridades sanitarias internacionales de cada uno de
los países de las Asociaciones Miembro no hay fecha para la reanudación de las
competiciones continentales de clubes”
Líneas más
adelante, se aclara que la intención es terminar en este 2020 con las actuales
ediciones de la Copa Libertadores y la Copa Sudamericana. No deja de ser una
expresión de deseo, tomando en cuenta el párrafo anterior, la situación por el
coronavirus en toda América, y las fronteras actualmente cerradas en la mayoría
de los países.
Lo que parece más
sencillo de ejecutar es la ratificación de la fijación de la Copa América 2021,
a jugarse en Colombia y Argentina en junio y julio del siguiente año.
América
propone, Europa dispone
La loable
intención de iniciar las Clasificatorias Sudamericanas en los primeros días de
setiembre chocan de pleno con la realidad de los calendarios europeos, con
alteraciones ya evidentes.
Si Ligas como la
de España, Italia, Francia, Inglaterra, van a culminar con viento a favor a
fines de julio, y la Champions se anuncia su término para el mes de agosto, es
razonable pensar que la licencia de los futbolistas se va a pisar con esa
primera semana de setiembre, en la que se quieren iniciar las Clasificatorias
en Sudamérica.
Sin jugadores que
actúan en el fútbol europeo, no hay selecciones sudamericanas. Se estima en
cerca de 200 futbolistas actuando en el Viejo Continente e integrantes
habituales de los combinados de esta región del mundo. Entonces, parece claro,
que América propone, jugar sus Clasificatorias en el mes nueve, pero Europa
dispone. Y la historia del mundo ya ha dejado claro para dónde se inclina la
realidad cuando el conflicto así está planteado.
