la Pro League, la decisión del Gobierno hace inviable la reanudación del
campeonato a no ser que sea a puerta cerrada.
La decisión adoptada
este miércoles por el gobierno belga de prohibir los “eventos masivos” hasta el
31 de agosto tendrá consecuencias en el fútbol. Por de pronto las medidas de
confinamiento vigentes en el país centroeuropeo desde mediados de marzo para
contener la pandemia de coronavirus han sido prolongadas hasta el 3 de mayo,
según anunció la primer ministro Sophie Wilmès
La decisión de
prohibir los “eventos masivos” hasta septiembre imposibilita prácticamente que
el campeonato belga se reanude esta temporada a no ser que sea a puerta
cerrada. “La próxima semana se realizará un análisis sobre esta cuestión”,
avanzó el ministro del Interior, Pieter De Crem.
De hecho la junta
directiva de la Pro League ya propuso a inicios de abril dar por finalizado
campeonato, una decisión que debería ser formalizada por la Asamblea General de
clubs profesionales en su reunión del día 24 pese a la fuerte presión de la
UEFA, partidaria de que las diferentes ligueras lleguen a su fin aunque sea en
junio y julio con objetivo de evitar que los clubs pierdan sus ingresos por la
transmisión de los partidos.
La UEFA amenazó a
Bélgica con prohibir a todos sus equipos participar en competiciones europeas
si ponía fin a su liga de forma prematura e injustificada. Ahora la decisión
del gobierno abre un nuevo escenario.
Once jornadas por jugar
A menos que se decida jugar a puerta cerrada, el campeonato belga no puede completar su calendario ya que en el momento de la suspensión quedaba por jugar una jornada de la fase regular y las diez de los playoff.
