sobre el calendario en el que están LaLiga, FIFPro y la ECA.
El Comité
Ejecutivo de la UEFA se reunirá el jueves de la próxima semana para decidir
sobre el calendario tanto de las ligas nacionales como de las competiciones
europeas. La reunión se producirá tras escuchar las propuestas del Grupo de
Trabajo creado al efecto, que discutirá las distintas opciones entre el lunes y
el miércoles próximos.
En este órgano
participan representantes de LaLiga, FIFPro y la ECA. Las opciones que maneja
la UEFA para España, como ya se publicó en este periódico, son recomenzar el
Campeonato de Liga en junio y dejar la Champions para el mes de agosto. En
ambas competencias, a puerta cerrada, con test individuales para los jugadores
y, en todo caso, siempre que el Gobierno levante las medidas del estado de
alarma.
En cuanto al
Campeonato español, Javier Tebas ya dijo que se manejaban tres posibles fechas
para su reinicio. El presidente de LaLiga reveló que las tres fechas claves
eran 29 de mayo, 6 de junio y 28 de junio, siendo una de estas dos últimas la
más probable para el regreso del fútbol a los estadios españoles, aunque a
puerta cerrada. Tebas, que participa en el Grupo de Trabajo de la UEFA, ha
hecho grupo con la Premier, que están dispuestas a terminar el campeonato
siempre que lo permita la salud pública. Italia, que en un primer momento
estaba alineada con españoles e ingleses, ya empieza a asumir que quizás deba
dar la temporada por perdida.
La UEFA maneja
varios escenarios para terminar las competiciones europeas. Uno de ellos es
concentrar los partidos que quedan tanto de Champions como de Europa League en
el mes de agosto, aplicando un cambio de formato a partido único desde cuartos
de final. El otro plan es reiniciar la Copa de Europa al compás de las ligas,
que recomenzarían el primer fin de semana de junio. Ambas posibilidades están
sobre la mesa del director de competiciones de la UEFA, Giorgio Marchetti.
Pero, en todo
caso, cualquier decisión que emane la próxima semana desde Nyon, la ciudad
suiza en la que la UEFA tiene su sede, estará al albur del COVID-19, ya que la
pandemia y su desarrollo por el continente será de verdad el último juez sobre
el reinicio, o no, de las competiciones tanto nacionales como continentales.
