Bérgamo. Allí le esperaba el español Javier Ribalta. El ahora director
deportivo del Zenit -entonces Jefe de Ojeadores del Novara- le fichó por 40.000
euros del Boavista sub 19.
"No me gusta
hablar de esto, pero es del fichaje del que más orgulloso me siento por cómo se
dio. Fue muy personal. Le fui a ver a Portugal, le recogí en el aeropuerto...
Era imprevisible en ese momento pensar que llegaría al Manchester United, pero
me alegra mucho", afirma.
La pregunta es
qué vio Ribalta en Bruno: "Un poco lo que es ahora. Jugaba entre líneas,
con calidad, siempre quería el balón, con buen tiro... Vino para el primavera
(filial) y en septiembre ya jugaba y marcaba [anotó cuatro goles y dio dos
asistencias en 23 partidos] con el primer equipo en Serie B".

Llegó a Friuli
por 4 millones y dejó 11 dianas y 13 pases de gol en 95 partidos. Di Natale captó
su talento: "Bruno me irrita. Es el que más calidad tiene de todos. Sus
pies son increíbles, pero, a veces, se acomoda".
Alex Geijo era su
socio en Udine y corrobora esta teoría: "Tenía mucho de todo: golpeaba
bien, asistía, era ordenado y trabajaba mucho fuera y dentro del campo. Era muy
completo. Por eso ha ido destacando allá donde ha jugado".

Cinco goles y
tres asistencias sirvieron para amortizar los 7 kilos que le costó a la Samp.
"Llegamos juntos. Teníamos un grupo joven, pero fuerte con los italianos,
Skriniar, Torreira, Praet, Schick, Muriel...", recuerda Karol Linetty, que
cohabitó en la sala de máquinas con Bruno: "Siempre ha sido un chico
agradable e inteligente. Lo tenía todo para convertirse en el gran jugador
que es. Con los años ha logrado la regularidad que le faltó aquí. Me alegro por él: realmente se lo merece".
Sporting CP 2017-20
Diez millones
permitieron a Bruno salir del exilio y ser profeta en su tierra. Con los leones
registró 63 goles y 52 asistencias en 137 partidos que le valieron para debutar
con la absoluta de Portugal. En la 2018-19 batió el récord de Lampard (27)
y Alex de Souza (30) y se convirtió en el medio más goleador (32) en una
temporada de una gran Liga europea.
"Es un
crack, alguien distinto. Construye, asiste y finaliza. Eso es muy difícil de
ver en un solo futbolista. Además, juega sin presión, con naturalidad. Lo
errores no le afectan. Tiene alma de líder, sólo hay que ver cómo le ha
cambiado la cara al United. Puede llegar aún más alto", afirma José
Peseiro, que le dirigió en el Sporting CP.
