Atalanta, la gran sorpresa de la Champions League.
En internet
surgió una iniciativa para coronar al equipo de Bérgamo "por su buen
juego" y por "homenaje a su población".
Antes de que el
fútbol se detenga como consecuencia del coronavirus, Atalanta estaba diseñando
una temporada realmente de ensueño, no solamente en el marco del certamen
doméstico italiano sino también bajo la órbita de la UEFA Champions League.
Para colmo de males, la ciudad de Bérgamo -de donde es el equipo comandado
tácticamente por Gian Piero Gasperini- se encuentra viviendo momentos realmente
dramáticos por el desembarco de la pandemia.
En la Serie A de
Italia, Atalanta marchaba en la cuarta colocación, en puestos de clasificación
directa hacia la próxima edición de la Champions League. A su vez, en el marco
del mencionado certamen continental, Atalanta venía de quedarse con el
histórico pasaje hacia los cuartos de final de la competición luego de dejar en
el camino a Valencia como consecuencia de una abultada victoria por 4-1 en
condición de local y de un buen triunfo por 2-1 en territorio español.
Lamentablemente,
Atalanta se vio muy perjudicado por el descanso obligado. Por ello, en Italia
surgió una iniciativa muy particular por intermedio de las redes sociales. En
la misma se solicita a las autoridades correspondientes que el equipo de la
ciudad de Bérgamo sea proclamado campeón de la Serie A de Italia, no solamente
por el buen juego desplegado en el campo sino también como homenaje a su
ciudad, la más golpeada de todo el país por el coronavirus.
