Tras la
reunión mantenida entre la UEFA y los representantes de las 55 federaciones europeas
se tomaron varias decisiones.
Varios directivos
de UEFA se reunieron con representantes de las 55 federaciones nacionales
asociadas para discutir sobre el futuro de las competiciones internacionales
europeas, entre ellas, la Champions League y la Europa League.
En la
videoconferencia mantenida se ha puesto el foco en que las ligas nacionales
puedan acabarse como prioridad para que el sistema económico del fútbol no se
vaya a pique. Esto conllevaría a que se terminen aunque tuviera que ser a
puerta cerrada sin aficionados en los estadios como medida de prevención por el
coronavirus.
Tras esta
prioridad vendría cuándo y cómo acabar las competiciones europeas iniciadas que
volverían al final de las ligas para disputarse en los meses veraniegos. Esto
conllevaría que la final de la Champions, según el escenario que contemplan,
pudiera disputarse en pleno mes de agosto.
Para ahorrar
fechas en un calendario ya apretado de por sí se optó por suspender todos los
partidos tanto masculinos como femeninos entre selecciones de modo que los
amistosos que tenía España pactados frente a Portugal y Lituania para junio
como preparación para
la Eurocopa 2020 ya aplazada, queden en suspenso. Esto incluye los partidos de
playoffs para la Euro 2020 y los partidos clasificatorios para la Euro 2021
femenina.
En su comunicado
UEFA indica que se cancelan los partidos de Selecciones así como otros torneos
como el Europeo Sub-17, Campeonato Europeo Femenino, se aplaza el Europeo
Sub-17 femenino y el Europeo sub-19 hasta mejor fecha. Lo mismo sucede con la
final de la Champions League de Fútbol Sala.
Queda por saber
qué pasará con el problema de los jugadores cuyos contratos finalizan el 30 de
junio habida cuenta que las competiciones se irán más allá de dicha fecha así
como los jugadores cedidos. Al respecto UEFA informó que se valoraría a su
debido tiempo.
Igualmente
mantendrán nuevas reuniones para llegar a un consenso sobre los calendarios de
la próxima temporada dado que empezarán más allá de las fechas previstas. Esto
hará que tanto la ECA (Asociación Europea de Clubes) como UEFA y FIFA deban
pactar una reducción del mismo dado que son muchas las competiciones implicadas
en base a tener un calendario más corto.

En un comunicado
posterior, la Real Federación Española de Fútbol asegura que "las
federaciones ceden las fechas de junio a LaLiga".
Añaden que
"el órgano rector europeo trabaja en dos escenarios. Por un lado, poder
reanudar la competición a comienzos de junio y, por otro, que el balón pueda echar
a rodar a finales del mismo mes o a principios de julio, para lo que la UEFA
desarrolló unas propuestas de calendarios que incluyen los partidos de ligas
nacionales, UEL y Champions League. UEFA y federaciones asumen que, si se cumplen las previsiones, habrá fútbol
en julio y agosto. En el caso de que no puedan llevar a cabo los planes, se
llevará a cabo un nuevo replanteamiento del calendario".
