González González, árbitro de Primera División próximo a la retirada, dice que
“si alguien pensaba que el VAR era una ciencia exacta, estaba muy
equivocado".

González, árbitro que se encuentra en su última temporada en Primera División a
sus 45 añños, ha sido uno de los que más han participado en las labores del
VAR, hasta en 14 encuentros esta campaña y considera que en ese apartado puede
estar su futuro a la hora de continuar al arbitraje.
"Es la
evolución lógica porque es importante que los colegiados que desempeñen esta
labor hayan visto con anterioridad cómo se puede ayudar al compañero y el
futuro pasa porque el grupo encargado de este cometido antes conozcan las
circunstancias de cómo se dirigen los partidos con este apoyo exterior",
ha explicado el colegido leonés en una entrevista con la agencia Efe.
Para González, la
idoneidad de la implantación del videoarbitraje no arroja ninguna duda y por
ello se declara un "defensor a ultranza" de una herramienta que
considera "fantástica para aprender más y poder ayudar también en mayor
medida al compañero".
Sin embargo, su
aplicación no ha reducido el nivel externo de debate porque, según su punto de
vista, "en muchas ocasiones desde el periodismo se hacen las críticas
desde una camiseta determinada y por intereses, pero está claro que en España
se comenta y discute de todo y el fútbol siempre ha sido motivo de ello y si
alguien pensaba que el VAR era una ciencia exacta, estaba muy equivocado".
Pese a las
bondades de este nuevo elemento de ayuda al arbitraje, González cree que no
debería de ampliarse a un mayor número de supuestos, como algunos ámbitos
defienden. "Si se abre mucho, destruiría el fútbol", asegura.
Ante la grave
crisis del coronavirus, González Gonzále tiene claras las prioridades y
prefiere no plantearse ningún tipo de escenario a corto o medio plazo para la
reanudación de la competición porque, afirma convencido, "el fútbol es
secundario y las circunstancias mandan, por lo que lo único que debe preocupar
a todo el mundo es la salud y el resto está en un segundo plano".
Hasta el momento
de la suspensión temporal, González acumulaba en la actual temporada 13
partidos en el campo, entre Liga, Copa del Rey y Supercopa, el último el Real
Betis-Real Madrid (2-1), además de 14 en el VAR, en el que también tuvo ocasión
de colaborar en el de la Supercopa griega.
El árbitro
berciano lleva este periodo de confinamiento en su domicilio de Ponferrada
(León) junto con su familia "inventando, como el resto de las personas,
mil actividades para los más pequeños", sin descuidar sus rutinas de
entrenamiento, adaptadas a las circunstancias, afirma.
Incluso este
periodo le ha servido para actualizar un proyecto que tenía aparcado, como era
una agenda minuciosa de todos sus partidos arbitrados, desde que se iniciara en
Regional Preferente, hasta llegar a los más de 200 encuentros en Primera
División, que incluye sus comentarios y opiniones sobre su actuación.
Una
"joya" para el recuerdo personal y también para analizar una
trayectoria profesional en el arbitraje en la que tan solo le quedó en el debe
el no haber alcanzado la internacionalidad. "Es algo que no hay que pensar
demasiado, simplemente no se dieron las circunstancias y punto",
sentencia.
A pesar de no
plantearse un escenario concreto para la actual temporada, González si
considera que, caso de reanudarse la competición con partidos a puerta cerrada,
"sería una situación extraña -que él nunca ha experimentado en el
arbitraje- y que resultaría peor
porque faltaría el ambiente que mantiene la tensión y el estar alerta,
pareciendo un entrenamiento".
