Cinco meses
después de llegar al Tottenham, ha visto el adiós de Eriksen y las dudas de
Kane. Las lesiones le han pasado factura. Ya hay necesidad de fichar en verano.
El pasado 20 de
noviembre José Mourinho llegó al Tottenham con la difícil papeleta de superar
lo conseguido por Mauricio Pochettino. Desde luego, su llegada fue celebrada en
Londres: uno de los mejores se ponía al frente del proyecto. Es más, Daniel
Levy mostró plena confianza en él desde el segundo uno: "Con José tenemos
a uno de los entrenadores más exitosos en el fútbol". Pero, ahora, cinco
meses después de su llegada, se le empieza a tambalear el proyecto.
Primero fue
Eriksen el que se bajó del barco, tras negarse a renovar aun con el portugués
en el banquillo. Pero el gran golpe llegó en el día de ayer cuando Harry Kane,
buque insignia de los spurs, dejó caer por primera vez que no está garantizada
su continuidad en el Tottenham: "Siempre he dicho que si no siento que
vamos en la dirección correcta, entonces no soy alguien que se quede allí por
el simple hecho de hacerlo. Soy un jugador ambicioso, quiero convertirme en un
jugador top".
Desde luego, un
mensaje claro y directo a Daniel Levy, al que exige refuerzos de garantías para
pelear por todos los títulos. Seguramente las palabras de Kane también son
compartidas por su técnico, el cual podría ver el derrumbamiento del proyecto
prometido si no hay reacción en los próximos meses. José Mourinho, acostumbrado
a tocar el cielo en Champions y torneos domésticos, ya teme por el futuro de su
Tottenham.

inestables
Además de los
refuerzos exigidos por Harry Kane, el delantero inglés necesita un billete para
la Champions para poder explotar todo su potencial. Actualmente, el Tottenham
es octavo clasificado de la Premier League con 41 puntos. Tiene a siete al
Chelsea, cuarto en la tabla. A falta de nueve jornadas, los de Mourinho
necesitan dar un paso al frente si quieren optar a volver a la mejor
competición continental.
No obstante, los
datos del portugués no están al nivel de las expectativas. Pese a las lesiones,
el Tottenham ha dejado escapar muchos puntos insospechados y ha caído eliminado
en la FA Cup y en la propia Champions. Mourinho firma, hasta el momento, un
balance de once victorias, cinco empates y diez derrotas, si bien los fracasos
en las diferentes competiciones agravan la estadística. Aún tiene tiempo para
enmendarlo y la crisis del coronavirus le ayudará a recuperar efectivos.
Fichajes que
devuelvan la ilusión
El pasado mercado
de enero, Mourinho pidió al club fichajes para dar oxígeno a una plantilla
cargada de problemas físicos y Levy respondió. Llegaron Bergwijn y Gedson
Fernandes, aunque salieron Eriksen o Danny Rose. De todos modos, la inversión
invernal hace creer que en verano, a pesar de la falta de ingresos por el
coronavirus, podrían llegar refuerzos de mayor nivel que ayuden a convencer a
Harry Kane de quedarse en el equipo.
Por el momento,
no hay ninguna estrella puesta sobre la mesa, pero Sky Sports habla de seis
nombres que responden a los perfiles que busca Mou y que ayudarían a reforzar
considerablemente el nivel medio de la plantilla. El nombre más mediático de
todos ellos es el Eder Militao. También se habla de Kondogbia (Valencia), Atal
(Niza), Jamal Lewis (Norwich) o Sabitzer (RB Leizpig). Su valor de mercado, no
demasiado elevado, facilita su llegada. "Todos los suplentes del Leipzig
jugarían en mi equipo", dijo Mou tras los octavos de Champions. Desde
