ídolo del club como jugador, deja de ser segundo entrenador por razones
financieras tras pararse la liga belga.
La crisis
económica derivada de la pandemia del coronavirus sigue cobrándose víctimas en
el fútbol. Si el jueves el Sion suizo despidió a nueve jugadores por no aceptar
las condiciones del ERTE, ahora le ha tocado el turno al primer técnico después
de que el histórico Anderlecht belga haya prescindido de Pär Zetterberg,
ayudante de su entren ador Franky Vercauteren, por razones financieras después
de que el campeonato liguero quedara suspendido hasta el 5 de abril.
El despido de
Zetterberg, sueco de 49 años, se inscribe, según el comunicado del Anderlecht,
en la voluntad de “armar al club, a corto plazo, contra la pérdida significativa
de ingresos como consecuencia de la paralización del campeonato”.
“El
fútbol profesional, como la mayoría de las otras actividades económicas, se
enfrenta a gran desafío debido a la epidemia del virus Covid-19. Esto tiene un
impacto financiero importante en el funcionamiento del club”, argumenta el
Anderlecht, que ostenta el récord de ligas conquistadas en Bélgica (34).
Zetterberg es un
icono del Anderlecht, cuya camiseta defendió en dos etapas, la primera entre
1989, cuando tenía 18 años, y 2000 y la segunda de 2003 a 2006, cuando colgó
las botas. Centrocampista dotado de una gran técnica, ayudó a los ‘mauves’ a
ganar 6 ligas y 2 Copas.
Zetterberg fue
internacional sueco y en noviembre de 2018 regresó al Anderlecht como segundo
entrenador de Hein Vanhaezebrouck, por entonces al frente del banquillo. Pero
tras la marcha de éste, apenas un mes después, Zetterberg quedó relegado a un
segundo plano.
