presidente de la FIFA, informó que se hará "una contribución directa de
diez millones de dólares a la OMS". Alentó a los futbolistas a contribuir.
En Italia se
espera que el brote de coronavirus toque su pico máximo en los próximos días y
en España está avanzando de manera descontrolada.
Mientras que
China vuelve a producir y asegura que el virus está decreciendo en cuanto a
contagios, en Europa ya es una preocupación máxima y en América está llegando
rápidamente.
Por eso, desde la
FIFA decidieron tomar una medida histórica para ayudar a frenar la epidemia
mundial.
Gianni Infantino,
presidente de la FIFA, comunicó que el ente madre del fútbol mundial donará
diez millones de dólares a la OMS (Organización Mundial de la Salud).
"Gracias su
sólida situación financiera, la FIFA está en condiciones de proponer medidas de
solidaridad proactivas dirigidas específicamente a la crisis del
coronavirus", manifestó en un comunicado.
Además, agregó
que discutirán: "La posibilidad de establecer un Fondo Mundial de
Asistencia al Fútbol para ayudar a los miembros de la comunidad futbolística
afectados por esta crisis".
Por último,
Infantino alentó a los jugadores a que también contribuyan en estos esfuerzos.
"Cooperation, mutual respect and understanding must be the guiding principles for all decision makers to have in mind at this crucial moment in time."
