La crisis del
coronavirus no hace más que crecer durante los últimos días y en lo que al
mundo del fútbol se refiere no dejan de surgir dudas. Una de las principales
gira en torno al rompecabezas del calendario, que en cierto modo está atado a
la alarmante aseveración pronunciada por Christian Seifert, director
administrativo de la Liga Alemana de Fútbol (DFL) este lunes. “En el futuro
inmediato los partidos a puerta cerrada son la única posibilidad de
supervivencia. Quien descarte categóricamente los partidos a puerta cerrada no
tiene que preocuparse más por si la próxima temporada la Bundesliga tendrá 18 o
20 clubes porque ya no habrá 18 clubes profesionales. ¿Qué clubs y cuánto
tiempo pueden sobrevivir sin partidos?”, indicó el mandatario poniendo en tela
de juicio la viabilidad económica de clubs de la máxima categoría del fútbol
alemán si la situación actual persiste en el tiempo.
Aunque Seifert insistió
en cuanto a no hacer un drama de la actual situación, lo cierto es que el
fútbol alemán está oficialmente detenido hasta el 2 de abril, y no se descarta
incluso que ese periodo sea prolongado, una cuestión que se analizará el 30 de

Este martes es un
día clave en este sentido, ya que tendrá lugar una reunión de la UEFA en la que
debería comenzar a clarificarse el camino a seguir. “A partir de ahí sabremos
qué opciones tenemos”, dijo Seifert en referencia al cónclave del fútbol
europeo. Una posibilidad es que se suspenda la Eurocopa, pero ese supuesto,
aunque balsámico para el fútbol de clubs, no evitaría el otro problema existente:
el hecho de que el contrato de muchos jugadores con el club que defienden
actualmente finalice a 30 de junio.
