Tenía que pasar
tarde o temprano y, para colmo, ha sucedido en el club más grande de Italia.
Daniele Rugani, futbolista de la Juventus de Turín, ha sido el primer caso de
la Serie A en contraer el coronavirus. Un caso sin precedentes, ya que todavía
ningún jugador de la élite había sido diagnosticado así. Ni siquiera Mbappé,
que se sometió a las pruebas el martes.
La propia
Juventus lo hizo oficial ayer por la noche, en un escueto comunicado en su
página web en el que confirmaba la peor de las noticias, aunque si bien es
verdad que anunciaba que el defensor se encontraba estable. “El futbolista
Daniele Rugani ha dado positivo por Coronavirus-COVID-19 y actualmente está
asintomático. La Juventus está activando todos los procedimientos de
aislamiento requeridos por la ley, incluido el censo de quienes han tenido
contacto con él”, explicaba el conjunto turinés, al que se le viene trabajo
encima para arreglar la situación.
El caso puede
tener consecuencias muy importantes. La Serie A ha sido la primera de las
grandes ligas en decretar la suspensión por el coronavirus y los días le han
dado la razón. Un caso que afecta severamente a la máxima competición italiana,
que cerró el telón hasta el 3 de abril pero que, bajo estas circunstancias,
podría prolongarse más.
Evidentemente, a
nivel de club, la Juventus de Turín tendrá que someter ahora a pruebas a todos
los futbolistas y miembros del club, confiando en que no haya ningún caso más
y, en un peor caso, teniendo que poner a los miembros en cuarentena para no
exponer a más personas. Una situación que, a peor nivel, podría llegar incluso
a afectar a la Champions League ya que, de momento, el 17 de marzo tenían que
jugar la vuelta contra el Lyon. Algo que está por ver.
