La AFE
(Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles) junto a la AIC (Asociación de Futbolistas
Italianos) solicitan que no se celebren los duelos de Getafe y Sevilla contra
Inter de Milán y Roma.
En un martes de
importantes medidas de prevención en la lucha contra la propagación del
coronavirus, la AFE (Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles), conjuntamente con la
AIC (Asociación de Futbolistas Italianos), emitió un comunicado a última hora
de la noche pidiendo que los partidos de Europa League entre equipos españoles
e italianos sean suspendidos.
Concretamente, la
solicitud afectaría directamente al Barça-Nápoles de Champions League y a las
eliminatorias de Europa League entre Getafe e Inter de Milán por una parte y
entre Sevilla y Roma por la otra.

La Asociación
de Futbolistas Italianos (AIC) y la Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles (AFE),
ante la gravísima realidad que afecta a toda la sociedad en general, y en
especial a la de ambos países, quieren manifestar de manera conjunta lo
siguiente:
1- La
situación que se está viviendo en Europa, sobre todo en Italia y en España,
respecto a la grave crisis sanitaria debida a la difusión del virus Covid-19,
nos está enfrentando a todos a adoptar decisiones contundentes y
desgraciadamente inevitables.
2- Cuatro
eliminatorias a disputar entre equipos italianos y españoles, de Champions
League y Europa League, fueron programadas y el Valencia-Atalanta ya se ha
disputado este martes. Mientras, al mismo tiempo el Gobierno español ha subido
el nivel de emergencia, bloqueándose vuelos desde Italia.
3- En Italia,
el nivel de emergencia nacional sube con el paso del tiempo.
4- Jugar un
partido en Italia, a donde deben viajar Getafe y Sevilla, pondrá en riesgo la
salud de muchos futbolistas, de muchas personas.
5- Los viajes
entre Italia y España, y viceversa, en las próximas semanas, previsiblemente
serán aún más peligrosos y complicados. Por lo tanto, el riesgo que conlleva
que se disputen partidos en Italia y España es más que evidente, se jugarían en
condiciones de emergencia nacional por parte de los dos países.
6- AIC y AFE,
conjuntamente, piden a la UEFA que los partidos entre equipos italianos y
españoles sean suspendidos para que se disputen en el futuro en condiciones de
mayor seguridad y menor emergencia nacional en los dos países.
7- El problema
ocasionado por el Coronavirus es una cuestión de carácter global, no es sólo de
Italia y España. Por ello, ambos sindicatos confiamos en que se abra una seria
reflexión sobre la programación de los próximos partidos de competiciones
europeas, teniendo en cuenta en todo momento que la gravedad de la emergencia
sanitaria va subiendo sin parar con el paso del tiempo.
Salvo que se
tomen medidas al respecto, ambas eliminatorias están programadas para que se
celebren a puerta cerrada, tal y como sucedió en el Valencia-Atalanta de este
martes.
