El Liverpool sigue en caída libre

El Chelsea aprovechó el momento de dudas por el que pasa el conjunto de Klopp para eliminarle de la FA Cup.

 

El Liverpool se ha venido abajo y no encuentra explicación, eliminado también de la FA Cup ante un Chelsea que fue mejor en Stamford Bridge (2-0). A una carta el equipo de Lampard se creció y ahondó en la pequeña crisis en la que lleva metido el futuro campeón de la Premier. Otro año en el que Klopp renuncia a los torneos ingleses para priorizar ser el rey de la liga e intentar mantener viva la esperanza de eliminar al Atlético y seguir instalado en su trono en Europa.

 

Se ha desteñido el Liverpool en cuestión de dos semanas, reducido desde su paso por Madrid. La derrota en el Metropolitano le dejó marcado y como consecuencia o como efecto colateral encajó su primera derrota en liga ante el Watford. No se acaba de encontrar con su juego y también sufrió frente al Chelsea en la FA Cup. Klopp se presentó con cinco cambios ante Lampard, que optó por un once más reconocible en el que tuvo cabida Kepa, defenestrado hace semanas en la Premier.

 

El cuadro de Londres tomó el mando frente al campeón de Europa. Pedro dejó huella en un inicio con más colmillo que el Liverpool, incapaz de poner fin a las dudas. Tampoco ayudó Adrián a ello tras un error de bulto a un remate de Willian. El extremo brasileño fusiló al guardameta y encontró un agujero entre sus guantes para anotar el 1-0. Se puso a remar en ese contexto el Liverpool, un equipo que ha perdido la condición de invencible y al que se le empiezan a ver las costuras.

 

Entre tanto se reivindicó Kepa ante Lampard con una triple parada, a cada cual más meritoria. Un asedio esporádico del Liverpool en el que Mané, Origi y Minamino se estamparon con el meta una vez tras otra. El único atisbo de peligro ante un Chelsea menos condescendiente. Mount avisó con un remate al larguero y poco después Barkley se lanzó a una carrera maratoniana para establecer el 2-0 y dejar al cuadro de Anfield contra las cuerdas, tan solo pendiente de un milagro.

 

Pedro perdonó la sentencia definitiva a un Liverpool gaseoso, también sostenido por una parada milagrosa de Adrián a Giroud. El Chelsea siempre mereció más. Klopp recurrió a Firmino y tardó en acordarse de Salah. Llegó demasiado tarde el ingreso del egipcio en Stamford Bridge porque el conjunto local ya tenía para entonces gran parte del trabajo hecho. Apenas aportó algo el 11 en un final en el que el equipo local firmó su presencia en los cuartos de final de la FA Cup. El Liverpool necesita reflexionar.
