El Porto venció a domicilio al Vitoria Guimaraes por 1-2, pero el triunfo, que le sitúa a un punto del líder Benfica, quedó eclipsado por otro incidente racista en un estadio de fútbol. La víctima en esta ocasión fue el maliense Moussa Marega, que abandonó el terreno de juego debido a los insultos proferidos por la afición local. Un hecho sin precedentes en el campeonato portugués.
Marega, delantero del Porto, dejó el campo en el minuto 70, poco después de lograr él mismo con su gol el 1-2, y se mantuvo firme en su decisión pese a que su entrenador, Sergio Conceiçao, y tanto compañeros como jugadores rivales intentaron convencerle insistentemente de que desistiera. Muy afectado, el jugador maliense, que jugó en el Vitoria Guimaraes en la temporada 2016-17, lanzó una silla a las gradas cuando abandonaba el campo sin que llegara a impactar a ningún aficionado. También se retiró respondiendo a los insultos racistas con los pulgares hacia abajo. Wilson Manafá entró en su lugar.
Fueron tres minutos de mucha tensión en que Marega no accedió a las peticiones de los jugadores, mientras Sérgio Conceiçao gritaba al público “esto es una vergüenza”. Muchos aficionados, conscientes de la gravedad de los insultos racistas, comenzaron a corear el nombre de Marega.

Posteriormente Marega tuiteó con enfado: “Me gustaría decirles a esos idiotas que vienen al estadio a hacer gritos racistas... que se jo**n. También agradezco a los árbitros que no me hayan defendido y me hayan sacado una amarilla por defender mi color de piel... Espero no encontrarte más en un campo de fútbol. Eres una vergüenza”, terminó refiriéndose al colegiado.
Conceiçao atendió a los medios y, conteniendo las lágrimas, dijo: “Estamos completamente indignados. Un pequeño grupo de hinchas insultó a Moussa desde el calentamiento. Somos una familia, independientemente de su nacionalidad, altura, color de cabello, color de piel. Somos humanos, merecemos respeto y lo que sucedió aquí fue desafortunado”
