La Eurocopa 2020, que se celebrará el próximo verano en 12 ciudades distintas para conmemorar el 60 aniversario de su creación, ha recibido una cifra récord de petición de entradas con más de 28 millones de solicitudes, el doble de las registradas para la anterior competición en Francia 2016.
Según los datos facilitados este viernes por la UEFA, la última fase de venta el pasado diciembre para los seguidores de las selecciones clasificadas supuso otra marca récord de 8.977.427, más del triple de las solicitudes hechas en la misma fase hace cuatro años.
La UEFA recordó que el verano pasado, la comercialización para el público en general, también fue un gran éxito, con un total de 19,3 millones de solicitudes, y que el próximo periodo de adquisición será en abril para los aficionados de las selecciones que se clasifiquen a través de las eliminatorias que se jugarán en marzo.
La alta demanda de entradas incluyó que para la final de la competición, que se jugará en el estadio de Wembley de Londres el 12 de julio, se hayan cursado 714.000 solicitudes, casi ocho veces el aforo del recinto, y que para el encuentro que enfrentará a Francia y Alemania, el 16 de junio en Múnich el 16 de junio, se solicitaran 710.000.
La UEFA se refirió a los precios asequibles para más de la mitad de las puestas a la venta: 30 para la fase de grupos en Bakú, Bucarest y Budapest; 50 para el resto y 100 para las semifinales y la final a los aficionados 'Fan First'.
"Estas impresionantes cifras demuestran que los aficionados están respondiendo con entusiasmo al primer torneo europeo, que abarcará 12 países anfitriones diferentes y dará a ocho ciudades su primera experiencia en una EURO. Es significativo que el 64% de las solicitudes llegaron de aficionados de los países anfitriones, lo que pone en relieve que la EURO 2020 acercará el fútbol a más aficionados locales que nunca", indicó la UEFA.
