River reafirmó su gran inicio de temporada. El conjunto de Marcelo Gallardo se impuso por 3-1 ante Villa Dálmine por los 16avos. de final de la Copa Argentina y pasó de ronda. De esta manera, el elenco de Núñez, actual bicampeón del certamen, sigue firme en busca del trofeo que otorga un pasaje a la próxima Copa Libertadores.
Villa Dálmine no quiso que le pasara lo mismo que a Central Norte de Salta (que sufrió el primer gol de River a los cuatro minutos) en la instancia previa y salió a jugar con mucha intensidad. A partir de ese dominio de las acciones generó una chance concreta a los tres minutos: tras un centro desde la derecha, Martín Comachi cabeceó en el área y Franco Armani se lució con una atajada a puro reflejo.
La intervención del arquero de River sería clave para mantener el cero en su arco y para, a partir de allí, construir el triunfo del "Millonario". Sobre los 14', en su primer avance serio, Ignacio Scocco recibió la pelota en el área y fue derribado por el arquero Juan Ignacio Dobboletta. El árbitro Facundo Tello cobró el penal y Gonzalo "Pity" Martínez, con un certero remate a la derecha del arquero, sentenció el 1-0.
A partir de la ventaja, las acciones se equilibraron. El conjunto de Campana perdió algo de agresividad en ataque, pero creció en lucha. Los de Gallardo -que no contaron con los mundialistas Enzo Pérez y Juan Fernando Quintero- no mostraban su mejor versión en ese pasaje del partido y sostenían el triunfo parcial en la aparición aislada de alguna de sus individualidades.
El equipo de Felipe de la Riva coqueteó con el empate, pero pagó por su falta de efectividad. La acción más clara fue un centro por lo bajo que Comachi buscó por el medio y que Lucas Martínez Quarta, en su intento por despejar, terminó estrellando en el palo.
River dio el golpe psicológico en el inicio del segundo tiempo. A los cinco minutos, Pratto peleó una pelota a pura potencia física y habilitó a Ignacio Fernández, quien marcó el 2-0. A partir de ese momento la historia cambió: "El Millonario" tomó las riendas del encuentro y capitalizó la merma física y anímica del rival.
Pratto, una de las figuras del encuentro, dispuso el 3-0 con una definición al segundo palo, por encima del cuerpo del arquero. Al terminar el partido, el delantero reconocería que, en realidad, quiso enviar el centro para Scocco que llegaba por el medio. Iban solo 13 minutos del complemento y el conjunto de Núñez parecía tener cerrado el encuentro.
Con la ventaja de tres goles en su poder, "El Millonario" bajó la intensidad y apostó al contraataque para regular esfuerzos. Dálmine recién pudo acortar la distancia en el marcador a tres minutos del final, con una pelota de un córner que empujó Marcos Martinich y que Armani llegó a rechazar cuando ya había traspasado la línea de gol. Ya no hubo tiempo para más: el elenco "Violeta" no pudo torcer la historia.
