La International Champions Cup sigue su curso, y este fin de semana debutará un buen número de equipos, entre ellos el Chelsea y el Inter de Milán, que se verán las caras en el Allianz Riviera de Niza. Los pronósticos colocan al conjunto londinense como favorito para lograr sus tres primeros puntos, aunque no debemos olvidar que, a pesar de su teórica superioridad en términos de calidad, este torneo tiene un carácter amistoso y es utilizado por los entrenadores para afinar conceptos. Además, todavía quedan jugadores internacionales pendientes de regresar a sus equipos tras la disputa del Mundial, como pueden ser Kanté y Giroud por parte del Chelsea o Perisic por la del Inter de Milán.
Primer partido serio para Sarri con el Chelsea
La llegada de Maurizio Sarri al banquillo del Chelsea promete acabar con el fútbol plano y excesivamente defensivo de Antonio Conte en favor de una pizarra más vistosa con la que jugadores de la talla de Hazard o Willian puedan lucir sus cualidades. Todavía es pronto para saber si el técnico italiano será capaz de devolver a los bleus al trono perdido, pero su participación en la International Champions Cup servirá para empezar a conocer el camino que quiere tomar en esta nueva aventura. Tras un partido amistoso disputado hasta el momento, con victoria por 0-1 sobre el Perth Glory con un solitario gol de Pedro, el Chelsea tratará de lograr su segundo triunfo de la pretemporada frente a un Inter de Milán que llega mucho más rodado, otro de los motivos por los que el club italiano podría imponerse.
El Inter de Milán se puso el mono de trabajo muy pronto para preparar una temporada en la que esperan engancharse por fin al grupo de élite del fútbol italiano. Evitar el batacazo de la pasada campaña es prioritario, con una racha nefasta que les hizo perder toda opción de pelear por el título con Juventus y Nápoles, y mucho tendrán que mejorar los interistas si quieren conseguir ese objetivo. Hasta el momento, han disputado cuatro partidos amistosos, con victoria por 0-3 sobre el Lugano en su primera puesta de largo, derrota por 2-0 contra el Sion y dos empates frente a Zenit y Sheffield United. Una vez más, cabe remarcar el carácter amistoso de estos encuentros y la ausencia de jugadores clave, pero también es cierto que una mala racha de resultados en los partidos preparatorios podría repercutir negativamente en su rendimiento al comienzo de la Serie A, por lo que lograr buenos resultados en este torneo es vital para los transalpinos.
Tercer enfrentamiento en la International Champions Cup
Chelsea e Inter de Milán son dos asiduos de la International Champions Cup, y ya se han visto las caras en dos ocasiones en este torneo. El año pasado, el Inter se llevó la victoria por un marcador de 1-2, mientras que el Chelsea fue el equipo vencedor en su cruce de la edición de 2013, con Eden Hazard como protagonista al anotar uno de los goles del conjunto londinense. Más atrás hay que remontarse para encontrar enfrentamientos en partido oficial, exactamente hasta la temporada 2009/2010, en la que el Inter eliminó al Chelsea en los octavos de final antes de proclamarse campeón de la UEFA Champions League.
