Sadio Mané ha
sido distinguido con el Balón de Oro de África de 2019 en la gala de premios de
la Confederación Africana de Fútbol celebrada en Murghada (Egipto). El
delantero del Liverpool, de 27 años, se impuso en la votación por delante del
egipcio Mohamed Salah, su compañero de equipo y ganador en 2017 y 2018, y el
argelino Ryad Mahrez (Manchester City).
Mané obtiene por
primera vez el galardón más importante del fútbol africano y es el segundo
senegalés en lograrse tras El-Hadji Diouf en 2001 y 2002. El jugador del
Liverpool conquistó la Champions League y ayudó a su selección al subcampeonato
de la Copa de África en 2019. El argelino Mahrez fue el campeón, pero el título
no le ha servido para ganar el Balón de Oro.
Achraf repite
como Mejor Jugador Joven
Por su parte, el
lateral marroquí Achraf Hakimi, cedido por el Real Madrid al Borussia Dortmund,
fue galardonado a sus 21 años como el Mejor Jugador Joven de África de 2019 al
imponerse en la votación a los nigerianos Samu Chukwueze (Villarreal) y Victor
Osimhen (Lille).
El marroquí del
Real Madrid se alza con este galardón por segundo año consecutivo gracias a su
gran rendimiento en el Borussia Dortmund, donde ha ido creciendo desde su
llegada en 2018 hasta convertirse en una pieza imprescindible. El presente
curso firma seis goles y seis asistencias en 26 encuentros disputados a las
órdenes de Lucien Favre.

A pesar de no
conseguir el premio al mejor jugador, la estrella argelina Ryad Mahrez sí logró
la designación al Gol del Año gracias al disparo de falta que transformó en el
último minuto del partido de semifinales ante Nigeria con el que clasificó a su
selección a la final de la Copa de África.
Oshoala, mejor

En el apartado
femenino, Asisat Oshoala, jugadora del Barça se impuso a la sudafricana Thembi
Kgatlana y a la camerunesa Ajara Nchout por el premio a la Mejor Jugadora
Africana. Además, la técnico de la selección de Sudáfrica, Diseree Ellis, fue
nombrada la Mejor Entrenadora del Año, mientras que Camerún fue la Mejor
Selección Nacional Femenina de 2019.
En la ceremonia
también fue premiado con el reconocimiento honorífico el exportero togolés
Kodjovi Obilale, por "ser un ejemplo a la hora de superar obstáculos".
