Este lunes se ha
realizado en Nyon, sede de la UEFA, el sorteo de los octavos de final de la
Champions League. En ese sentido, ya han quedado confirmados los ocho
emparejamientos de la Ronda de 16.
El destino ha
deparado que el Real Madrid tenga que enfrentarse en la próxima instancia de su
competición fetiche al Machester City, mientras que el FC Barcelona se medirá
con el Nápoles. Los otros dos españoles, Atlético de Madrid y Valencia, jugarán
ante Liverpool, actual campeón, y Atalanta, respectivamente.
Hay que recordar
que tanto el Barcelona como el Valencia jugarán la ida de sus eliminatorias en
condición de visitante, y disputarán como locales los compromisos de vuelta.
Esto es porque acabaron en el primer lugar de sus respectivos Grupos, en tanto
que Atlético y Real Madrid empezarán jugando en casa y buscarán el pase a
cuartos jugando lejos de la capital española.
Los otros cuatro
partidos de octavos de final son los que enfrentarán a Chelsea con Bayern de
Múnich, Borussia Dortmund con PSG, Olympique de Lyon con Juventus y a Totenham
con RB Leipzig.
Cabe recordar un
dato llamativo de esta Champions League: por primera vez, los 16 equipos
clasificados a los octavos de final son de las cinco grandes ligas: cuatro son
de España, cuatro de Inglaterra, tres de Alemania, tres de Italia y dos de
Francia.
