El PSG sigue intratable en la Ligue 1. Los parisinos golearon por 0-4 al Saint-Étienne en otra gran actuación de Neymar y Mbappé, que marcó dos goles y fue un incordio durante toda la noche para "Les Verts". Son ya siete los puntos en los que aventaja al OM, y eso que tiene un partido pendiente contra el Mónaco.
Tuchel decidió utilizar el mismo sistema que contra el Galatasaray en Champions y el Montpellier la semana pasada en la Ligue 1. El alemán alineó un 4-4-2 con Mbappé de punta junto a Icardi, para que Di María entrara en la banda derecha. Por otra parte, Marquinhos y Paredes jugaban por primera vez juntos en el centro del campo. La de hoy era una de las visitas más complicadas que le quedaban al PSG en su camino hacia el título.
El PSG realizó los mejores 20 minutos de la temporada. Neymar, que comenzó el partido en la banda, retrasó su posición y se convirtió en un centrocampista más. De interior, el brasileño fue una pesadilla para el Saint-Étienne, ya que cada recepción suya en el centro del campo se traducía en una conducción que terminaba en ocasión para los de Tuchel. Paredes estuvo presente en todas las jugadas importantes de la primera mitad. Si el argentino fue el autor del 0-1, minutos después activó a Di María con un pase vertical espectacular, en lo que hubiera sido el 0-2 de Mbappé si el árbitro no lo hubiera anulado por fuera de juego. El mediocentro forzó la expulsión de Aholou, que con una contundencia desmedida y fruto de la desesperación, fue con todo a una disputa en una jugada sin trascendencia.
Con uno menos, todo fue más fácil para el PSG. M'Vila y Camará, el doble pivote del Saint-Étienne, terminó desquiciado. Neymar y Di María recibieron numerosos balones entre líneas atacando sus espaldas y así llegaron varias ocasiones claras para los de Tuchel, rechazadas por un omnipresente Ruffier.
No obstante, antes del descanso, Marquinhos encontró a Neymar entre líneas y éste asistió a Mbappé para que hiciera el 0-2. Fue la culminación de una primera mitad en la que solo hubo un equipo, y fue el parisino.
La segunda parte tuvo incluso más emoción que la primera. En apenas 20 minutos, Keylor Navas salvó al PSG con dos intervenciones de mucho mérito,
Neymar tuvo dos mano a mano contra Ruffier y también falló un penalti que él mismo había provocado. El Saint-Étienne intentó adelantar líneas a pesar de estar con un jugador menos y, aunque lo consiguió, dejó muchos espacios, que fueron su condena en el partido.
Icardi no faltó a su cita con el gol y marcó el tercer tanto del PSG, en una maniobra fantástica del ex del Inter, que se anticipó a Perrin y batió a placer a Ruffier. Ahí murió el partido, pero todavía hubo tiempo para un gol más de Mbappé, que destrozó a Fofana con un cambio de ritmo frenético y puso el cuatro y definitivo gol, que permite al PSG seguir como líder en solitario de la Ligue 1.
