El resultado mantiene al Manchester City a 14 puntos del Liverpool, pero es que la distancia es tan abismal que por ejemplo tiene los puestos de descenso a 20. El Arsenal, por su parte, se mantiene en novena posición gracias al buen inicio de campaña, ya que apenas lleva una victoria en los últimos nueve partidos de Premier League. A estas alturas el año pasado el Arsenal llevaba diez victorias en liga, el doble que en esta campaña en la que se ha decidido prescindir de Unai Emery.
