El técnico
alemán renueva cuatro años y medio por el cuadro de Liverpool, al que ha
devuelto al trono europeo.
El Liverpool está
de celebración. El vigente campeón de Europa ha anunciado que su entrenador,
Jurgen Klopp, renueva por cuatro años y medio y seguirá en el equipo de Anfield
hasta 2024, sellando las puertas a una posible salida del ex del Borussia Dortmund.
"El
Liverpool Football Club se complace en anunciar que Jürgen Klopp ha acordado
una extensión de contrato con el club. El gerente extenderá su mandato de los
Rojos hasta 2024, asegurando que permanecerá al timón por otros cuatro años y
medio. El acuerdo se produce después de cuatro años de enorme éxito a cargo del
Liverpool para el entrenador de 52 años y garantizará las bases a largo plazo
para el desarrollo del equipo, y de hecho del club, que continuará hasta la
próxima década", reza el texto que ha publicado el club 'red'.
Klopp, que
aterrizó en la Premier en octubre del 2015, ha conseguido devolver al Liverpool
a los grandes de Europa y consiguió la primera Champions de su carrera la
pasada temporada, la sexta para los de Anfield, tras más de una década sin
conseguirlo, tras la final de Estambul de 2005.
Además, la enorme
ventaja con la que el Liverpool cuenta en la Premier sobre sus rivales ha sido
otro de los alicientes por los que la directiva del cuadro británico ha
decidido seguir con la vinculación con el germano.
En el mismo
comunicado, Klopp ha querido demostrar la satisfacción que para él supone
seguir casi un lustro más en Anfield, llegando a la década en el caso de que se
cumpla el contrato de forma satisfactoria.
"Para mí,
personalmente, esta es una declaración de intenciones, una que se basa en mi
conocimiento de lo que hemos logrado como asociación hasta ahora y de lo que
todavía tenemos para lograr. Este club está en un lugar tan bueno que no podría
pensar en irme.
Cuando llegó la
llamada en otoño de 2015, sentí que éramos perfectos el uno para el otro; en
todo caso, ahora siento que subestimé eso. Solo con una creencia total de que
la colaboración sigue siendo totalmente complementaria en ambos lados, puedo
hacer este compromiso para 2024. Si no lo hiciera, no volvería a firma",
aseguraba.
De esta forma, el
vigente campeón de la Champions se asegura seguir contando con los servicios de
uno de los entrenadores mejor valorados de todo el Viejo Continente y continuán
con el faro que les ha guiado hacia la élite.
