Riquelme figura como candidato a 12° vocal de la Comisión Directiva de Boca en
la lista que encabezan Jorge Amor Ameal y Mario Pergolini, pero se trata

Y en el mismo
sentido, una noticia que apareció luego de la entrevista podría incluir una
pista sobre el futuro: Jorge Almirón fue despedido en Al Shabab de Arabia
Saudita por sus malos resultados y cobra fuerza que él sea el elegido, ya que
el propio Román supo elogiar sus trabajos anteriores en el fútbol argentino.
Por otra parte,
Riquelme también se refirió a la otra cuestión principal que deberá resolver la
próxima dirigencia: el futuro de Carlos Tevez. Y aunque lo llenó de elogios, no
quiso dar certezas al respecto: "Tevez es de una categoría superior para
el fútbol argentino, lo quiero siempre en mi equipo. Creo que todavía le puede
dar mucho a nuestro club, pero tiene que recuperar la alegría de jugar a la
pelota como lo hacía en el barrio. Después del domingo me sentaré a tomar mate
con él, tengo que ser respetuoso con los que nos dieron alegrías, lo tenemos
que cuidar para que se retire de la manera que lo tiene que hacer".
