El gran año del
River de Marcelo Gallardo hizo que, entre otras cosas, varios representantes
del plantel defiendan la camiseta de la Selección argentina. Y parece ser que
la lista podría ampliarse, según reconoció Lionel Scaloni.
A los nombres de
Franco Armani, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Gonzalo Montiel y Exequiel Palacios se
podrían agregar los de Nacho Fenrández y Enzo Pérez, quienes aún no fueron
parte de las convocatorias del joven entrenador. "El tema de la edad no es
un problema. Nosotros siempre dijimos que no le cerramos las puertas a
nadie", comenzó dicendo Scaloni en charla con TyC Sports y destacó:
"Enzo Pérez es un jugador válido, sabe jugar con la camiseta de la
Selección y tiene un presente muy bueno. A los mejores jugadores los vemos:
tenemos gente que va a ver los partidos y él es uno de ellos, como Nacho
Fernández. Son jugadores importantes que alguna vez pueden formar parte".
Respecto a su
equipo, el DT reconoció que ya tiene una base para jugar, al menos, el comienzo
de las Eliminatorias rumbo a Qatar 2022. "La mayoría de los jugadores con
que jugamos contra rivales importantes se repitieron ocho o nueve, hay sitios
donde buscamos la mejor opción, una base del equipo la tenemos y es la misma
desde que asumimos. Los partidos importantes que consideramos difíciles
repetimos esa base", contó y redondeó: "Vamos a ir valorando y viendo
de cara a lo que es mejor para el equipo. Hoy consideramos que esta base nos
está dando resultados y alegrías. Por momentos es difícil retocar eso".
