Cada vez parece
más irregular y eso se paga caro. El Manchester City no aprendió de la derrota
sufrida el año pasado en la casa del Newcastle y se volvió a dejar dos puntos
clave, sobra la bocina, en un partido que acabó empatando (2-2). El equipo de
Pep Guardiola, que no cuajó una buena actuación, tuvo que conformarse con un
único punto. Es el actual campeón de la Premier y busca su tercer título
consecutivo, pero ahora mismo, el City atraviesa un mal momento. Ahora está a
11 puntos del líder, el Liverpool, que ganó por 2-1 en casa ante el Brighton
adn Hove Albion, con doblete de Van Dijk y roja para Allison Becker, que tuvo
que ser sustuitido por el español Adrián.
Guardiola apostó
por Kyle Walker como mediocentro y dejó como carrilero a Riyad Mahrez. La idea
no le funcionó nada bien al City que, además, dejó a Rodri en el banquillo,
colocando a Ilkay Gundogan como pivote, junto a Walker. Los "citizen"
se adelantaron en el marcador, gracias a Raheem Sterling, que anotó su octavo tanto en la competición. Sin
embargo, el empate llegó gracias a Jetro Willems y al descanso, el City se fue
sabiendo que debía mejorar o no ganaría.
El empate se
mantendría hasta el minuto 80 y con el City completamente volcado, llegó un
golazo tremendo de De Bruyne para poner el 1-2. Pero cuando Guardiola pensaba
que se llevaría los 3 puntos, apareció una jugada de estrategia del Newcastle

Shelvey, casi en el descuento, aprovechó un balón en la frontal del área, ante
la pasividad de la defensa celeste, para poner el empate con un derechazo.
