El
seleccionador chileno asegura que podría dejar su puesto si se alarga la crisis
social que atraviesa el país.
El seleccionador
de Chile, el colombiano Reinaldo Rueda, dejó caer este miércoles que podría
dejar el timón de la Roja si se repiten situaciones como la actual, en la que
los futbolistas decidieron no jugar el amistoso ante Perú de la próxima semana
por la crisis social que atraviesa el país.
"Si yo vengo
a trabajar en fútbol y no hay fútbol, me tengo que ir", afirmó el técnico
en una rueda de prensa, horas después de que los jugadores del combinado
chileno anunciaran que decidieron no disputar el partido ante Perú.
"Si la
material prima, que son los jugadores, no están disponibles por uno u otro
factor, el espíritu de estar yo aquí se pierde", agregó.
El técnico
comentó que el motivo actual está motivado por una situación social
"atípica" pero se preguntó sobre "cuándo se va a
normalizar".
Agregó que para
este amistoso ante Perú se sacrificó y no convocó a ningún jugador de la liga
local para que este campeonato pueda avanzar y ponerse al día, después de que
no se haya disputado ninguna jornada desde que el pasado 18 de octubre
comenzara el estallido social en el país en reclamo de reformas para mayor una
mayor equidad.
"Y no los
convoco para que la liga adelante y (resulta que) la liga no juega. Entonces ni
están para al selección ni para sus clubes y estamos perdiendo todos y estoy
perdiendo yo", expresó Rueda, que vio como en este miércoles la Asociación
Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP) de Chile anunció la suspensión de los
partidos de los Campeonatos Nacionales que estaban programados para este fin de
semana.
El técnico dijo
que le "da tristeza" y que "se calienta" pero que hay que
afrontarlo y que "de aquí a marzo (cuando comenzarán las eliminatorias
mundialistas) no se sabe qué pueda pasar".
Rueda comentó que
le sorprendió la decisión de los futbolistas de no jugar y que antes de que
llegaran a Chile había conversado con algunos y que le habían mostrado su disposición
de afrontar el choque, pero que una vez que aterrizaron, vieron la situación, y
conversaron con sus familias y entre ellos cambiaron de opinión.
"Los
jugadores llegaron con una gran disposición y se reunieron y tomaron esta
decisión de solidarizar por todo lo que esta viviendo el país. Es algo muy
respetable", dijo Rueda.
En cuanto a su
parecer personal, comentó que, como extranjero, está "en una posición
neutral".
El amistoso ante
Perú es el único que tenía programado Chile en esta fecha FIFA porque el otro
encuentro previsto inicialmente, contra Bolivia en casa, fue suspendido la
semana pasada por las protestas sociales, que van por su cuarta semana y que
han dejado ya al menos 20 fallecidos y miles de heridos.
