El PSG venció por 0-2 ante el Metz y confirmó las buenas sensaciones que dejó ante el Toulouse. Los parisinos, a pesar de las bajas, vencieron en un encuentro pragmático y sin apenas dificultades ante un rival inferior. El partido estuvo marcado por la interrupción de este durante varios minutos por una pancarta homófoba en uno de los fondos del estadio.
Tuchel dejó varias sorpresas en el once inicial. Por una parte, el joven Bulka, de 19 años, debutaba en partido oficial con el primer equipo del PSG en la portería. El técnico alemán confirmaba después que Aréola había pedido no disputar el partido al estar a punto de cerrarse su cesión al Real Madrid. Además, Adil Aouchiche, pichichi del Europeo sub17 con 9 goles estableciendo un récord, se convertía en el jugador más joven en debutar como titular en el PSG con 17 años. La titularidad del canterano es el enésimo mensaje que deja Tuchel a Paredes de que no será titular en el PSG.
La primera parte fue plácida para el PSG. El doble pivote Gueye-Verratti funcionó con balón y Aouchiche se sintió liberado en campo rival. Ante un rival como el Metz que defiende en marcas individuales, el técnico estiró a Bernat y Dagba, sus laterales, para que Sarabia y Di María centraran la posición y generaran una especie de 3 contra 1 ante Fofana. Esto permitió al PSG sumar muchas acciones por dentro.
El primer gol no tardó en llegar. En una jugada ensayada en un córner, Fofana llegaba tarde a un balón dividido con Bernat y cometía penalti. Di María puso el 0-1 desde los 11 metros y el partido entró en un guión distinto, con un PSG más conservador con la pelota y con el Metz buscando envíos largos a Habib Diallo, una de las revelaciones de la pasada Ligue 2 al conseguir 26 goles.
Diallo puso en aprietos a Marquinhos y a Thiago Silva en varios duelos a la espalda de los centrales brasileños del PSG. El senegalés aprovechó la gran zancada que tiene y su gran disparo a media distancia para probar a Bulka. Fueron dos disparos desviados que permitieron al equipo de Hognon ganar metros y respirar ante el dominio parisino. No obstante, los dos disparos de Diallo fueron un espejismo, ya que el PSG volvió a destapar las carencias de los marcajes individuales del equipo granate.
Tras interrumpirse el partido por una pancarta homófoba (ya se interrumpió el Niza-Marsella del miércoles correspondiente a la jornada 3 de la Ligue 1), Choupo-Moting aprovechó un gran centro de Verratti en una falta lateral para hacer el 0-2. Sin brillar, el PSG encontraba un resultado favorable, con un jugador que estaba hace varias semanas fuera de París, y que tras la lesión de Cavani suma tres goles en dos encuentros. Un comodín inesperado que ha encontrado Tuchel para solventar partidos como el del Toulouse el pasado domingo y el de hoy en Metz.
La segunda parte apenas nos dejó ocasiones. Tuchel dio entrada a Paredes para que Verratti y Gueye se juntaran a la misma altura y así poder dormir el partido, y el Metz apenas tuvo capacidad de reacción, continuando con los marcajes individuales de la primera parte y con timidez para salir a la contra ante el riesgo del tercer gol del PSG. El joven Bulka tuvo que intervenir una sola vez en el partido, y fue para bloquear un remate de Diallo en el minuto 80. Fue la única oportunidad de los de Hongon en la segunda parte, ya que el conjunto parisino durmió con posesiones defensivas el encuentro y no dejó opción alguna de correr y atacar al Metz.
