Deadline Deals: Premier League’s final transfer moves
{by} tribalfootball

Newcastle United's Alexander Isak is expected to sign for Liverpool

With just a few days left of the Premier League summer transfer window, clubs across Europe will be bracing themselves for some last-minute bids for their players.

Some deals have been in the offing for a few weeks now, with just the finer points of a player's potential contract to be ironed out before pen is put to paper, whilst unforeseen injuries can force clubs into an unexpected reshuffle at the 11th hour.

As has been seen many times in the past, some transfers go right up to the wire on Deadline Day before being closed successfully, whilst others, despite the desire of all parties, just don't make it across the line for any number of reasons.

It's fair to expect another busy end to the window, so let's take a look at some deals that could be sealed by 7pm BST on Monday evening.

England's capital city could well be a hive of activity over the next few days, with a number of London clubs currently involved in negotiations for players.

Chelsea, who have already spent big again in this window, have missed out on Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, who joined0Tottenham on Friday evening.

It's unlikely to be the end of their business this window either, as it's believed that Thomas Frank is also hoping to land Nathan Ake from Manchester City in order to shore up the Lilywhites defence.

With0Enzo Maresca losing out on a player that seemed destined for Stamford Bridge, that would be a big blow. However, the Italian can console himself with the capture of Man Utd's exciting attacker, Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentinian has long known he had no future under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, and dug his heels in to get the move he favoured over all others. A seven-year contract has now been agreed with Chelsea for a deal approaching 340m.

Another player almost certain to be leaving the Theatre of Dreams is Rasmus Hojlund.0

Though the Dane has given his best in a United shirt, it's rarely been good enough, and Amorim's capture of Benjamin Sesko was the biggest indicator yet that if Hojlund wants regular first-team football, he should look elsewhere.

With Romelu Lukaku injuring himself in a pre-season friendly for Napoli, the Partenopei have offered Hojlund the perfect opportunity to end his personal United hell, with a deal already agreed but not signed at this stage.

Bottom-of-the-table West Ham United need a huge boost after their poor start to the 2025/26 season.0

Should the Hammers lose against Nottingham Forest in their next fixture, it's worth considering whether Graham Potter will still be in his position after the international break.

In the meantime, it seems that the east Londoners are working on the basis that he is still the man for the job, and Soungouto Magassa and Dimitri Colau are expected to sign before the deadline.

Whether that trio of players will be enough to help turn the club's season around is a moot point at this stage.

By far the biggest deal of this and any other window is likely to be Alexander Isak's switch from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Things have ended very acrimoniously between the Swedish international and the Magpies, though no one would've been in the least bit surprised if the will-he-won't-he saga had ended with Isak having to make his apologies to teammates and fans, and stay put for a while longer.

That's because Eddie Howe and the board were clearly content to play hardball, turning down a 3110m move earlier in the window.

With one potential replacement after another falling by the wayside, including Wolverhampton Wanderers' Jorgen Strand Larsen, Howe simply couldn't countenance allowing Isak to go.

However, the arrival of Stuttgart's brilliant centre-forward, Nick Woltemade, who it's understood will undergo a medical with the St. James' Park outfit shortly, will pave the way for Isak to get his dream move to Anfield.

Joining him could be Crystal Palace captain Mark Guehi.

Ignoring manager Oliver Glasner after a recent fixture was telling enough in itself, with the England international another player that's long been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park - firstly to Newcastle and more latterly to Liverpool.

Palace's own reported pursuit of Man City's Manuel Akanji speaks volumes as to a Guehi move, and the defender is also likely to be joined in south London by Yeremy Pino at the very least.

A last-minute surprise switch for Atletico Madrid's Conor Gallagher could also be on the cards if the stars align, handing him the opportunity to return to a club he previously served with aplomb on loan.0

Although it's understood that Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed terms with Man City, there still appears to be some mystery around whether any transfer will actually take place.

Does Ederson have to move on before Pep Guardiola sanctions the deal, or will the Catalan perfectionist add the Italian to his goalkeeping roster along with previous summer signing, James Trafford?

That particular merry-go-round could prove to be one of the most difficult to unpick in the final hours and could well see Donnarumma staying put in the French capital for at least the next few months.
