Bayer Leverkusen agree deal for Man City's Echeverri without an option to buu
Manchester City have decided to loan Claudio Echeverri out for the 2025/26 season as they agree a one year deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
Borussia Dortmund submitted an official offer for the young playmaker earlier this week but have now been informed that Echeverri will join Bundesliga rivals Leverkusen. The 19-year-old only arrived at the Etihad Stadium earlier this year, having completed his long-awaited switch from River Plate in January and rarely featured under manager Pep Guardiola.0
Echeverri had a few appearances in the Premier League and even the FA Cup Final, as well as scoring in the FIFA Club World Cup against Al Ain which will have impress Leverkusen manager Erik ten Hag who is building a side that can challenge for the title once again.0
Dortmund and AS Roma had made offers for the Argentina international, but City were clear that they wanted no obligation to buy included in the deal which will see the teenager develop in the German first division which is often seen as the best place for young talent.0
The move was confirmed by journalist Florian Plettenburg who revealed that the deal is completed pending he final paperwork.0
