Lammens claims Man Utd are "one of the best" clubs as transfer links grow
Manchester United continue to be linked with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens who could be the next goalkeeping arrival at Old Trafford.
Lammens is seen as the perfect candidate to replace Andre Onana this summer and with an asking price of around 317M it seems like an obvious decision for manager Ruben Amorim who will be hoping to place a reliable, more consistent goalkeeper between the posts for the season ahead.0
After Onana committed one too many high profile errors last season, it is no secret that the Red Devils are in the market for a shot stopper who is not infamous for his coutless errors. Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, FC Porto’s Diogo Costa and Lille’s Lucas Chevalier have also been on United’s radar, but it is Lammens who has been linked to the side in the past week.0
The Belgian international was asked about his future and the speculation linking him with a move to United and praised the club which suggests that he would be open for a move this summer.0
"Manchester United are one of the best clubs, yes," Lammens said, as quoted by Sport Witness. "But you never know.0
"It could also be a different club, or who knows, I might stay here. In any case, I try to keep my feet on the ground. When teams like that come along, I think you've earned it."0
The 23-year-old is adamant a new club must have a “plan in place” for him to accept their offer however which United may not have as they chase multiple goalkeepers in the transfer market and still keep hold of Onana despite the want to sell the Cameroon star.0
“I certainly have enough confidence in myself. I think the most important thing is that my future team, whenever they arrive, has a plan in place.0
“Ideally, that means playing immediately, but it’s also possible I’ll have to take a step in between. As long as there’s a plan, it doesn’t matter whether I’m ready for the next step or not. Everyone has their own career, their own path. Even if I don’t take the right step right away, I’ll get there.”0
