Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Man Utd fail in audacious Emiliano Martinez loan bid as Aston Villa are left 'incredulous' by offer
{by} Goal.com

Man Utd prepared to launch offer for Aston Villa's Martinez

Aston Villa have reportedly been left 'incredulous' at Manchester United's attempts to sign goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on loan.

The Daily Mail reports that United held discussions this weekend about signing the 32-year-old but their efforts to sign him on loan have been 'immediately rebuffed' by Unai Emery's side. The report adds that the prospect of an Old Trafford loan for the Argentine was put to Villa officials this weekend but it was met with 'incredulity'.

Man Utd slash Garnacho asking price — ready to accept £40m fee

Manchester United are reportedly ready to accept around £40 million ($54m) for Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentina international among several players pushed out by manager Ruben Amorim. The winger was previously valued as high as £70 million ($94.4m), but growing interest from Premier League rivals may now lead to a cut-price exit for the 21-year-old.

Newcastle enter race for Guessand after Spurs talks stall

Newcastle United have reportedly entered the race to sign Nice forward Evann Guessand as negotiations with Tottenham 'slow down'.

Africa Foot claims that Newcastle have made contact with the player's entourage but are yet to get into 'serious negotiations' with Nice. The report adds that while Tottenham talks are 'slowing down', Villarreal is having regular conversations with the French outfit about the Ivory Coast international.

Chelsea slap £100m price tag on Jackson amid Man Utd links

Chelsea have reportedly slapped a £100 million ($135m) price tag on striker Nicolas Jackson amid Manchester United transfer links.

Sky Sports claim that Chelsea value Jackson at between £80-100m ($108m-135m), with United among the teams keeping an eye on him. They add the Blues are under no pressure to sell the striker, and teams in the Premier League, Europe, and Saudi Arabia are interested in signing him.

Wrexham get another signing — announce arrival of Thomason

Wrexham have confirmed the signing of George Thomason from Bolton Wanderers as their fourth summer addition, with the 24-year-old midfielder penning a three-year deal. Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac continue to back Phil Parkinson's and his squad, as the Welsh club gear up for life in the Championship with Premier League dreams in sight.

Tottenham weigh up approach for Crystal Palace defender Guehi

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a renewed approach for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, despite their initial bid being rejected in January. Liverpool are said to be heavy favourites to sign the England international, but the Lilywhites have not ruled themselves out of the race as they explore options to bolster their defence this summer amid Cristian Romero's uncertain future.

Liverpool have entered the picture this summer and are now considered frontrunners for the centre-back amidst Ibrahima Konate's uncertain future. However, The Telegraph has now reported that Spurs are still monitoring the situation and could yet return with a fresh offer.

Spurs to battle Dortmund & Italian sides for Crystal Palace ace

Tottenham are facing a battle with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund as they eye a Crystal Palace defender to boost their backline.

Thomas Frank's side are keen on landing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace following an impressive season in the Premier League with the Eagles, according to L'Equipe. Spurs want to add some steel to their backline as they prepare to play Champions League football in the 2025-26 season.

AC Milan lodge improved bid for Estupinan

AC Milan have tabled a new offer for Brighton's left-back Pervis Estupinan, but it still falls short of their €20 million (£17m/$23m) valuation of the Ecuadorian.

Milan's initial offer of €13m was rejected by the Seagulls, as they deemed it to be below their valuation of the defender. According to la Repubblica, the Rossoneri have now hiked up their bid to €15m (£13m/$17m), which still falls well below Brighton's €20m (£17m/$23m) asking price. The Italian club hope that agreeing personal terms with Estupinan can help them to pay a reduced fee.

Lyon land ex-Barca & Newcastle star's son in €3m deal

Lyon are set to sign Dutch defender Ruben Kluivert from Casa Pia, as the son of Patrick Kluivert continues the family's Ligue 1 legacy. According to a report from L'Equipe, Lyon have reached an agreement to sign Kluivert, the 24-year-old son of former Barcelona and AC Milan striker Patrick, from Portuguese side Casa Pia for just over €3 million.

Felix nearing Chelsea exit as cut-price return to old side nears

Joao Felix is reportedly nearing a move to former side Benfica but Chelsea's efforts to recoup the £46 million they paid for him looks remote.

Felix swapped Atletico Madrid for Chelsea for a fee around £46 million ($62m) last August, but the Portugal international has made it clear that he wants to leave the club. Now, Record claims that his old side Benfica hope to secure his services this week for approximately €20-25m (£17-21.5m), but A Bola states Chelsea are holding out for a higher offer.

Newcastle to offer £65m star new contract to fend off Man City

Eddie Howe's Newcastle are preparing a lucrative contract extension to fend off a potential £65 million bid from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Tino Livramento and is willing to splash out £65m on the Newcastle defender, according to The Times. However, Newcastle are determined to keep hold of Livramento and plan to offer a new long-term contract that will make him one of the top earners at St James' Park.

The cut-price fee Barca will have to pay to land Rashford

Barcelona have reportedly learned how much it will cost to permanently sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.

Rashford is set to join Barcelona on loan from United, with the Catalan outfit having the option to buy him permanently in 2026. Aston Villa could have secured his services for £40 million ($54m) at the end of his loan spell at Villa Park last season but now BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone claims Hansi Flick's side can purchase him next year for €35m (£30m).

Bayern expect Liverpool to soften stance on selling Diaz

Bayern Munich believe Liverpool will soften their stance on selling Luis Diaz this summer after spending close to £300 million ($402m) in the ongoing transfer window. The Reds are close to signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, which could convince them to allow Diaz to exit Anfield. The Colombian winger is keen to leave the Reds and join the Bundesliga giants.

Ter Stegen could stop Barca from registering Joan Garcia

Barcelona may be forced to delay Joan Garcia's registration as Marc-Andre ter Stegen weighs up surgery on a recurring back injury.

If Ter Stegen opts for surgery and is ruled out for the long-term, Barca would receive around €2 million in compensation from FIFA and be allowed to use 80 per cent of his annual salary for a replacement under La Liga’s injury exception rule. That would allow the club to register new goalkeeper Garcia, formerly of Espanyol, who is still awaiting clearance.

PSG eye Man Utd target Costa as Donnarumma replacement

As Gianluigi Donnarumma continues to reject new deals, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing Porto's Diogo Costa as his replacement. According to MaisFutebol, the French club are interested in bringing Portuguese goalkeeper, Costa.

Man Utd change Hojlund stance in boost to AC Milan, Inter & Juve

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United are open to sending Rasmus Hojlund out on loan but demand that an obligation to buy clause is inserted in the contract. The Red Devils are aware of the heightened competition in their forward line next season with the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and do not want this to halt the Dane's development. The club have thus decided to revisit their stance of only considering permanent solutions.

Man Utd look to offload Garnacho, Antony & Sancho after Rashford exit

According to The Athletic, Manchester United hope to avoid a 'doomsday scenario' as they look to swiftly get rid of four out-of-favour players before the summer transfer window winds down. Marcus Rashford is set to become the first unwanted man to leave as he closes in on joining La Liga champions Barcelona on a loan deal. United now want similar exits for the rest of their outcasts.
