Germany's Euro 2025 star Jule Brand has revealed men try to give her their phone numbers after training sessions.
Brand, 22, is currently starring for her nation in Switzerland and she found the net in their opener against Poland last week. However, her new-found fame comes with its downsides and she's opened up on the unwanted attention.
Speaking to Bild, Brand revealed men try to give her their phone number after her club training sessions: "In Wolfsburg, the fans were always with us right after training. When we walked to the car, I was always handed a note with a phone number or an Instagram account.
"People also put things in my mailbox. It was never anything bad, more like letters and chocolate, often from little girls. I still had a strange feeling."
However, Brand stopped reading messages on social media due to criticism she received: "I don't read messages on Instagram. It's more relaxed.
"I used to always read my messages. There were always inappropriate messages among them. As a player, you're harshly criticised and even attacked after games.
"Unfortunately, that sticks with you a bit, even if you don't really want to be interested in it. To prevent it from influencing me in the first place, I don't look at those messages anymore.
"Messages from boys or men were also common. Some try to be very friendly, with a smiley or an interesting saying. So far, there haven't been any offensive messages."
Brand also spoke about her opening goal admitting she struck the ball with her weak foot, but she practises the movement often.
Germany were back in action on Tuesday (8 July), overcoming a tough Danish side to book their spot in the knockout rounds.
They have one more group stage game left, against Sweden, before heading into the business end of the competition.
