Under Carlo Ancelotti's most recent managerial spell at the club, Real suffered a quarter-finals exit at the hands of Arsenal in the European top flight, in a term they won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
However, the Spanish giants will be involved in the first 32-team Club World Cup from June, as the winners of the 2021-22 and 2023-24 Champions League tournaments.
Xabi Alonso officially replaced Ancelotti as the club's new manager, as the Italian departed to take on the Brazil national team job.

Real Madrid have not confirmed any friendly games or pre-season tours as yet, but although not technically pre-season games, Alonso will lead his new team at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup tournament from June 18. A 1-1 draw against Al Hilal at Hard Rock Stadium, was followed by a 3-1 win over Pachuca, as Real qualified for the Club World Cup knockouts with a game to spare. Having topped Group H following a 3-0 victory against Red Bull Salzburg, Los Blancos set up a quarter-final clash against Juventus on July 1.
Depending on their progress in the Club World Cup, Real Madrid will extend their stay in the United States, and the appointment of friendlies may also be dependent on the same.

When does the 2025-26 season start for Real Madrid?
European leagues are expected to begin on the weekend of August 16/17, but as usual, La Liga could opt for its opening matchday to be played between Thursday, August 14 and Monday, August 18. In due course, Real Madrid will start their new Champions League campaign in September, with the first Clasico of the season against Barcelona possibly taking place in October if recent history is to be relied upon.
Madrid will enter Copa del Rey in the round of 32, as they qualified for the 2026 Spanish Super Cup, while the Champions League league phase draw will be held on August 28.
