The former defender told Prime Casino: “I could see Arsenal slipping down the table if they don’t sign a striker this summer. Maybe the squad is slowly dropping off, maybe opponents are working out how to play against Arsenal, that will make things even more difficult.”
Santos chief offers update on Neymar's future
Santos president Marcelo Teixeira claimed that he is hopeful that Neymar will extend his stay at the club beyond this summer.
Teixeira told Radio Bandeirantes: "We are talking to Neymar’s team. It is a step forward, we are making a lot of progress in the new negotiations and we are very close to a new agreement to allow Neymar to stay for a new period. We hope it happens as quickly as possible. It can't be rushed. It's not a case of, if Neymar doesn't renew, he won't play tomorrow or Sunday. That's not the case. Liverpool's Nathaniel Phillips has completed a permanent transfer to Championship side West Brom, the Reds confirmed on Monday.
The official statement read: "Liverpool FC can confirm defender Nathaniel Phillips has completed a permanent transfer to West Bromwich Albion. The 28-year-old finalised his move to the Championship side on Monday to bring an end to his nine-year stay with the Reds."

Christopher Nkunku fell out of favour under Enzo Maresca in the 2024-25 campaign, having clocked just 910 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League. Star Wrexham forward Paul Mullin has left the club to join Wigan Athletic on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.

Ramsdale offered shock Southampton escape route

Crystal Palace co-owner sells stake
Crystal Palace have confirmed that minority owner John Textor has signed an agreement to sell his stake to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson.
The deal is believed to be worth close to £190 million ($254.5m) and leaves "Woody" with a 43 per cent stake at the FA Cup winners.
A club statement reads: "Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that Robert Wood Johnson, "Woody", an American businessman and co-owner of the New York Jets, has signed a legally binding contract to purchase Eagle Football’s holding in the Club.
