continental anunció este jueves que implementará un sistema de reconocimiento
facial - algo inédito en este tipo de evento - para evitar que personas con
antecedentes criminales y barrabravas ingresen a los estadios.
El gerente de seguridad del comité organizador de la Copa
América 2019 que se jugará en Brasil,
Hilário Medeiros, sostuvo que habrá cámaras en los seis estadios que albergarán
partidos del campeonato y fue determinante: "Cualquier persona en una
'lista negra' no tendrá acceso", indicó.
En un seminario en Rio de Janeiro, convocado para discutir
el plan de seguridad, Medeiros aseguró que se utilizará una tecnología
"consolidada en el mundo". "Las fuerzas de seguridad de la Copa
América van a tener condiciones para captar imágenes de cada persona, y si
alguien está siendo buscado o está impedido de entrar por alguna circunstancia,
será identificado y no ingresará”, aseguró el gerente de seguridad del torneo.
Además, Interpol y los ministerios de seguridad
sudamericanos abastecerán de información a los funcionarios locales para la
conformación de las nóminas de impedidos.
Las autoridades temen posibles desbordes como los que
sucedieron en la final de la Copa Libertadores 2018, en Buenos Aires, cuando el
autobús que trasladaba a los jugadores de Boca Juniors fue apedreado al llegar
al estadio de River Plate para el partido de vuelta.
