So, in terms of the 2024/25 season, all’s well that ends well for Chelsea. An inconsistent campaign has now concluded with not only Champions League qualification, but also silverware after the Blues beat Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa Conference League final.
They had to do it the hard way, coming from 1-0 down at half-time to blow their Spanish opponents away in the latter stages. The delight among fans and owners was evident, with Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart quick to celebrate with Enzo Maresca and his coaching staff. The players also made the most of securing the club’s first European trophy since the 2021 Champions League triumph.

Players party to a vintage dance anthem
The elation in the Chelsea camp was clear as they made their way over to behind the goal to their supporters and danced with fans to 'Freed From Desire’, the 1997 anthem from Gala. The players were then arm-in-arm, jumping up and down to the tune, although Nicolas Jackson took things a step further.
He jumped over the advertising hoardings to get closer to the crowd, before draping himself in a Senegal flag that was handed to him by a fan. He was joined by Pedro Neto, who danced alongside him.

Cucurella leads the way
Central to it all was Marc Cucurella. He got the crowd going by sprinting towards them and throwing multiple fist pumps, each one greeted by a loud cheer. The left-back didn’t even mind having his long hair soaked as his team-mates showered him in a mixture of water and Lucozade.
Dressing room vibes
After skipper Reece James lifted the silverware to ‘We are the champions’, before the players finally headed to the dressing room in Wroclaw. There, the party continued, with a speaker blasting out tunes as the squad jigged around.

Chelsea stars head to nightclub
While there was little sign of players swigging alcohol in the changing rooms, both Enzo Fernandez and the suspended Mykhailo Mudryk seemingly carried on the celebrations after leaving the stadium. Mudryk posted a picture of the pair at an afterparty on Instagram, with Fernandez still wearing his playing shirt and medal around his neck.
Will there be a trophy parade?
Despite the celebrations, there are no official plans for a trophy parade in west London this week. Instead, a host of players will report for international duty before the club travels to America for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, with the tournament getting underway on June 15.
