Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol reported on Tuesday that Real Madrid are in touch with Liverpool to convince them to release Alexander-Arnold early as they want to include the full-back in their Club World Cup squad. The English defender's existing Liverpool deal expires on June 30, and Madrid are scheduled to play their opening Club World Cup game against Al-Hilal on June 18.
AS has now reported that Reds sporting director Richard Hughes will only allow Alexander-Arnold to leave earlier if he agrees to forgo his £200,000 per week wages for June. Los Blancos have also offered a €600,000 transfer fee to convince Liverpool to let him exit Anfield early, however, Hughes is demanding €1 million.
