El argentino, Diego Armando Maradona, técnico de los Dorados de Sinaloa del Ascenso del fútbol mexicano, afirmó que su compatriota Gerardo "Tata" Martíno "puede hacer una gran selección (mexicana), si los dirigentes respetan lo que él elija".
"Hay jugadores mexicanos con una calidad impresionante, aquí entrenan como en Europa. El 'Tata' Martino puede hacer una gran selección mexicana, si los dirigentes respetan lo que él elija. No he hablado con él, ni lo he felicitado por llegar aquí, lo haré personalmente", afirmó.
Maradona elogió el rendimiento de su equipo y agradeció el esfuerzo de sus futbolistas, en la rueda de prensa posterior a la victoria de los Dorados por 3-1 sobre los Mineros de Zacatecas, en la ida de las semifinales del Ascenso.
"He visto en mis tiempos de jugador y técnico a futbolistas que dejaron todo en una cancha y hoy tengo que estar agradecido con todos aquí. Es lindo ver a los jugadores en el campo, pero también hermoso ver a los que tengo en el banco, como alientan. Hay que seguir, esto no ha terminado", señaló.
"Hicimos un partido soberbio. Los chicos entendieron que debíamos estar metidos en el juego. Recurrimos a movimientos tácticos para recuperar jugadores fatigados y nos salió un partido redondo.Ellos no produjeron prácticamente nada porque no los dejamos tomar la pelota", explicó.
Maradona tuvo sus habituales bailes y festejos en el vestuario en comparsa con sus jugadores, sin embargo, aceptó que deben tomar la victoria con moderación para no adelantar vísperas respecto a la final.
"Si nosotros creemos que estamos clasificados estamos mal, el festejo que hicimos en el vestuario fue moderado, lindo, con la foto de siempre, porque tenemos el respeto a Mineros. Vamos ir a jugar de la misma manera a su cancha", agregó.
El "Pelusa" recordó tiene contrato con Dorados hasta este verano con posibilidades de renovar y señaló que no quiere irse de Dorados porque ha encontrado una comunión con sus jugadores y la afición.
"A los 58 años me siento vivo, siento que sirvo y estoy orgulloso de llevar un plantel como el que tengo, poder discutir o hablar con un dirigente, con el dueño ya casi hay una amistad, me siento realmente bien. Lo único que quiero es que los muchachos estén mejor y la calidad de entrenamiento sea la correcta", aseveró.
