Dortmund director Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted the German club could look to sign Hummels in an emergency deal for the summer's Club World Cup, despite the 2014 World Cup winner announcing his retirement earlier in April.
Watzke said on ZDF: "But there are currently a few players at the front, and those who have won the games in the last few weeks, they are not going to leave voluntarily and say, now we're going to sit on the bench because Mats is here for five weeks. Chelsea signed Jadon Sancho on a loan deal last summer from Manchester United, with an obligation to permanently sign the winger this summer for a fee of £25 million ($33.2m). The Blues also have the option of walking back on the deal with a payout of £5 million ($6.6m), but have ultimately decided to keep the England international at Stamford Bridge over the summer.
Now, GiveMeSport reports that the West London club will go through with the obligation to buy Sancho from United this summer, before trying to flip it into a profit by potentially selling the England international to Dortmund.
Brazil 'confident' of prizing Ancelotti away from Real Madrid
The Brazilian federation are reportedly confident that they can sign Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager this summer.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that CBF are confident that they can complete the signing of Ancelotti this summer. Spanish publication Relevo has also revealed that CBF delegates have already travelled to Spain to meet the Italian coach and potentially thrash out a deal.
