Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has opened up on life as a Premier League footballer's WAG, pointing out that living life in the public eye has its ups and downs.
Flanagan, 34, was engaged to former Chelsea, Swansea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Celtic, Preston and current Bristol Rovers winger Scott Sinclair, who turned 36 on Tuesday, during a 13-year relationship in which they had three children.
The pair split in 2022 and currently co-parent their children, Matilda, Delilah and Charlie, while Flanagan is currently dating former Morecambe and Burton Albion forward Robbie Talbot, 45.
And Flanagan has spoken about the difficulties in her relationship with Sinclair being reported in the media – and the effect negative stories can have on both her and her children.
Speaking on Vanessa Fitz's new Channel 5 talk-show, Flanagan said: "I remember the first time Scott had a football game and we were pictured together.

"My mum said, 'Oh, Helen, you're on the news about it'. I think it was on This Morning or Lorraine. I was 19. We were together for 13 years, it was a really long time.
"It's so hard for children. I had something in the press in January, My little girl went to school and someone said something unkind to her and she got really upset because she said, 'that's my mummy'. It's not nice.
"It can be really hard. You have a fulfilment of guilt for being in the public eye and then dealing with something like that, but it's your job."

Speaking about the split from Sinclair, Flanagan says some time and looking back at what the relationship brought into her life has helped her manage the process.
She explained: "I have so many memories of my ex that are lovely and special to me. I'd rather have that and look at it in a way with love instead of feeling angry or what have you.
"I think it makes it less sad. I'm three years down the line now, it's a process when you go through a bad breakup and you process all these different emotions.
"You come to a place where you feel a little bit calmer. I've never not had a boyfriend.
"I had a boyfriend when I was 17 who I lived with and a few months later I met Scott. Then we were together forever."
