Steve Bruce says he “understands” the Blackpool boo boys after his side’s latest stalemate against Peterborough.
Tuesday night’s goalless draw was the club’s ninth draw in their last 13 outings and the Seasiders were booed off at Bloomfield Road.
And Bruce said: “It wasn’t great to watch if we’re being brutally honest. It was a disappointing display from us.
“It’s the home performances [which need to improve]. I understand the supporters, I get it but we’ll keep bashing away.
“Of course I understand [the boos]. We haven’t done enough at home to keep them happy, it’s as simple as that.
“Even though we’ve only been beaten once since Boxing Day and we didn’t deserve to lose there, we haven’t given them enough to shout about at home and I quite understand the boos.
“We’re never going to give it up [play-offs]. There are still a lot of games to go. Anything can happen.
“Whatever we tried it didn’t seem to work. I won’t stick with 3-5-2. It’s something we’ve tinkered with. We thought we would give them a new toy to try and break the cycle at home.
“The only good thing for me was we were better defensively. But we need to be better at the top end.”
Posh stretched their unbeaten run to four games as they propelled themselves five points clear of the drop zone.
And boss Darren Ferguson said: “I felt we were probably deserving of more given the performance.
“I thought we were a lot better in the second half. We controlled the game early but sometimes you have to smell when you can win a game so I got stuck into them a little bit at half-time.
“A clean sheet away from home, we don’t get those often. We’re looking far more assured and far more of a team I expect to see. You can clearly see the lads are giving absolutely everything.
“It’s a hard place to come. They’ve had a lot of draws. With the way the second half went I’d say we deserved the win.
“The positives are we’re looking more like ourselves and controlling games far better.
“Tayo Edun and Sam Hughes are great signings. They’re both players I’ve tried to sign before.
“Sam’s a great organiser. He can play as well but he’s great in the air. He doesn’t lose many headers.
“Tayo’s been outstanding. His mentality is fantastic. They are two really important signings. They’ve helped the other ones.”
